  • Patent number: 5026039
Abstract: A sheet storage case for storing therein a stack of sheets. The sheet storage case is assembled into a sheet feeding device which feeds out an uppermost sheet of the stack of sheets. The sheet storage case includes a bottom plate, a first positioning member fixedly secured to the bottom plate and a slidably movable second positioning member provided in the bottom plate. The second positioning member has a sheet receiving portion for receiving the stack of sheets. The second positioning member is movable toward and away from the first positioning member. To mount a stack of sheet on the sheet storage case, the second positioning member is moved away from the first positioning member, the sheets are placed on the sheet receiving portion, and then the second positioning member is moved toward the first positioning member. The side edges of the sheets are aligned, because the sheets are fittedly interposed between the two positioning members.

  • Patent number: 4989195
Abstract: A recording/reproducing system for use with a plurality of different types of disks, each of the disks having an identification signal recorded thereon which uniquely identifies one of the different types of disks. The system includes a disk drive for driving a disk, a control circuit for receiving the identification signal and for controlling the disk drive. The system also includes a memory for storing a plurality of operating conditions for the disk drive. The plurality of operating conditions are arranged in the memory such that each of the different types of disks has a corresponding set of operating conditions. The control circuit reads from the memory that set of operating conditions corresponding to the idenfied type of disk, and controls the disk drive according to the read set of operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 4286281
Abstract: A video format signal recording and reproducing device in which an identification signal is inserted into each frame of the video format signal for identifying whether the corresponding data is video or audio data. The identification signal may further be capable of indicating whether corresponding video data is still picture data or motion picture data. In this case, the identification signal may be implemented as a color burst signal with the number of cycles within the burst set in accordance with whether the corresponding video data is still picture or motion picture data. The color burst signal is also inserted in each frame containing audio data so that there is no loss of color synchronization when audio frame data is being read from the recording medium.

  • Patent number: 4267762
Abstract: An electronic musical instrument is of a type wherein a key depression brings forth the generation of a key code identifying the depressed key in a digital representation, and the key code designates the tone to be produced. Based on the single key code of the depressed key, there are produced plural key codes indicating plural tones which are in predetermined musical interval relation with the depressed key to constitude a chord. The original key code and the produced key codes are utilized one after another successively to perform an automatic arpeggio.

  • Patent number: 4245245
Abstract: A two-way CATV system having a substantial number of terminals incorporates a central processor and transmitter system which continually interrogates the terminals at high speed, monitoring changes of usage of premium programs and other data while also permitting central control of access to restricted premium programs. For inexpensive but reliable intercommunication, short, fixed word length digital messages are frequency multiplexed onto the cable in both upstream and downstream directions, and subscriber groups are controllably selected in turn, with each subscriber being scanned in what may be an arbitrary order by transmission of unique private messages which are recognized at the terminal and in response to which previously prepared fixed length messages are immediately transmitted in return.

  • Patent number: 4217615
Abstract: A system for measuring tape thickness, instantaneous position and the entire length of the tape uses encoders on the supply and take-up reels to measure rotation rate. Counters actuating various multivibrators are used to determine a predetermined number of revolutions. Instantaneous position and thickness data are produced using data taken from take-up reel rotation and entire length data uses additional rotation data from the supply reel. Encoder outputs from reel rotation are counted to ultimately produce pulses for every third revolution of the reels. An oscillation pulse train of predetermined frequency is divided and counted by a binary counter reset by a gate circuit producing exclusive logic sums of multivibrator outputs of each and every third revolution. The counter output is provided to a latch circuit. By comparison and computation, the various outputs are obtained.
