  • Patent number: 5193919
Abstract: A tape printer for printing on a tape contained within a tape cassette. The tape cassette is insertable in and removable from the tape printer. The tape printer includes a housing and a printing mechanism supported on the housing for selectively printing on the tape. The printer also includes a tape conveying mechanism supported on the housing for conveying the tape across the printing mechanism. The printing mechanism and tape conveying mechanism are displaceable between first operative positions and second disengaged positions. A cover is pivotably supported on the housing. A coupling mechanism couples the cover to the printing and tape conveying mechanisms. The cover is displaceable between a first open position to actuate the coupling mechanism to move the printing and tape conveying mechanisms to their second disengaged positions and a second closed position to actuate the coupling mechanism to move the printing and tape conveying mechanisms to their first operative positions.

  • Patent number: 4986470
Abstract: A flow controller of a temperature-sensitive type provided with an initial condition setting mechanism comprises a valve; a valve seat; a bimetal support tube disposed around the valve and adapted to be rotated and angularly positioned by operating means; a bimetal wound between the valve and the bimetal support tube, and having ends fixed to the valve and the bimetal support tube, respectively; and a liquid passage formed through the valve and connected to a space in which the bimetal is disposed. The valve includes a closing portion which has a passage port and the valve seat includes a port adapted to face to the closing portion including the port, so that the relative position between the ports changes for automatically control the flow by virtue of the rotation of the valve caused by deformation of the bimetal in accordance with the change of the liquid temperature.

  • Patent number: 4959897
Abstract: A torsion spring mounting apparatus mounts a torsion spring on a spring support. The torsion spring comprises a leg portion, a coiled portion one end part of which extends to the leg portion, and an engagement portion which extends to the other end part of the coiled portion and which is bent in the radial direction of the coiled portion. The spring support comprises a cylindrical shaft onto which the coiled portion is to be fitted, and a coil engaging protrusion embedded in the circumferential surface of the shaft such that the coil engaging protrusion is normal to the shaft. A spring movement device grasps the torsion spring, and fits the coiled portion onto the shaft by moving the torsion spring along the shaft so that the engagement portion does not overlap the coil engaging protrusion.

  • Patent number: 4856710
Abstract: A dual air conditioner having a pair of air conditioning units for front and rear seats within the compartment of a vehicle adjusts the temperatures of air output to the front and rear seats in accordance with the difference between the temperature desired at one of the front and rear seats and a typical temperature sensed within the compartment corrected by a function of the difference between desired temperatures in order to condition the front and rear seats to the respective desired temperatures.

  • Patent number: 4694798
Abstract: The idling speed of an internal combustion engine is adjusted in accordance with the required performance of an evaporator of similar air cooler in a vehicular air conditioning system. Sensors monitor engine conditions pertinent to idling speed, including the air temperature at the output of the evaporator. If the evaporator is required to work at peak output, the idling peak is also increases to a maximum. As the load on the evaporator drops, so does the idling speed.

  • Patent number: 4304179
Abstract: A marking method and marking device for providing an image upon a steel material or other hardened surface. A toner image is formed on the surface of the marking drum having an elastic surface. The drum is placed in abutment with the material to be marked under pressure while at least one of the drum material to be marked is moved along the surface of the other to thereby transfer the toner image onto the surface to be marked. Toner fixing liquid is subsequently dispensed over the transferred image. Apparatus for driving and supporting the marking drum is disclosed including a swinging support arm which may be extendible in some embodiments so as to make the device capable of marking many types of surfaces.
