  • Publication number: 20210097208
Abstract: A technique allows a user to project content onto a shared display region in a controlled manner. The technique involves receiving context information that describes a context in which a user is currently interacting with a local user computing device. The technique then determines, based on policy logic and the context information, whether it is appropriate to invoke a private state, or to remove the private state and enter a shared state. The private state involves presenting a privacy screen on one or more shared display regions. The local user computing device remains connected to the display device(s) that host the shared display region(s) while operating in both the private state and the shared state. According to one advantage, the technique eliminates or reduces the risk that the user will inadvertently release private information to others; further, it does so without asking the user to perform burdensome preparatory actions.

  • Patent number: 10842701
Abstract: A patient support apparatus includes a base, a seat supported by the base and a backrest pivotable between an upright position and a reclined position. In one embodiment, a backrest support member is coupled to the backrest and is adapted to move between a stowed position in which the backrest support member does not support the backrest and a deployed position in which the backrest support member does support the backrest. Movement to the deployed position occurs in response to activation of an emergency control. In other embodiments, the base includes a portion that moves into an extended position underneath the backrest when the backrest is in the reclined position. Movement of the base portion to the extended position also occurs in response to activation of an emergency control.

  • Patent number: 10266270
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a system for improved control of movement for adjusting position of an articulating aircraft seat. In an embodiment, a caliper brake engages a brake pad against a braking surface for stopping seat movement. The braking surface is linearly aligned with a desired direction of seat movement. A biasing mechanism maintains the brake pad against the braking surface to prevent movement of the seat. A release actuator counteracts the biasing mechanism for releasing the brake pad from the braking surface to allow seat movement.
