  • Publication number: 20110010512
Abstract: A method for controlling a storage system and the storage system using this method are disclosed. In the storage system, at least two memory units share an I/O bus. The shared I/O bus transfers information for each memory unit to execute an operation. The operation has at least one high priority cycle and at least one low priority cycle. When a low priority cycle is overlapped with a high priority cycle, the low priority cycle is suspended, and the high priority cycle is operated first. After the high priority cycle is finished, the suspended low priority cycle is then resumed. By doing so, the shared I/O bus may be used by one memory unit during a busy cycle for another memory unit, during which the latter memory unit does not use the I/O bus. Therefore, the I/O bus can be more efficiently used.

  • Publication number: 20100332734
Abstract: A flash memory device includes a memory array and a memory control circuit. The memory array includes memory modules. Each memory module is located in a memory channel and includes a predetermined number of memory cells. The memory control circuit is coupled to the memory array via an address latch enable (ALE) pin and a command latch enable (CLE) pin. The ALE pin and the CLE pin are coupled to all of the memory cells and shared by all of the memory cells in the memory array.

  • Publication number: 20100332887
Abstract: One exemplary storage control device for a storage medium includes a controller and a voltage detector, where the controller controls data access of the storage medium, and the voltage detector monitors a power signal and asserts a detection signal to notify the controller when anomaly of the power signal is detected. Another exemplary storage control device for a storage medium includes a voltage detector and a controller, where the voltage detector monitors a power signal to generate a detection signal, and the controller controls data access of the storage medium. In addition, the controller enters a first operational state when the detection signal indicates that a voltage level of the power signal falls within a first voltage range, and enters a second operational state when the detection signal indicates that the voltage level of the power signal falls within a second voltage range.

  • Publication number: 20100318770
Abstract: An electronic device, a computer-implemented system, and an application display control method thereof are disclosed. The electronic device has a process unit that executes an operating system kernel, and then executes a first and a second software platform via the operating system kernel. When a first application is executed on the first software platform, a first window manager of the first software platform controls a screen area within which the first application being executed is displayed. The second software platform is notified by the first application to execute a second application, and a second window manager of the second software platform displays in the screen area a screen image that is generated when the second application is executed. Therefore, a user is given the flexibility of executing applications for different software platforms on the same one electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20100306447
Abstract: Methods for updating and recovering user data of a non-volatile memory array such as a flash memory are disclosed. An indication for indicating a mapping relationship for a logical address is established when original user data of the logical addresses is updated into new user data. The indication records new pointers, which record the mapping relationships between logical addresses and physical addresses storing the new user data of the logical addresses. Alternatively, the indication records memory positions of the non-volatile memory array which are defined as designated memory positions and a sequence for using these designated memory positions.

  • Publication number: 20090262620
Abstract: A device for detecting wobbles on an optical disc is provided, where the device is utilized for generating a wobble signal according to a plurality of detection signals. The device includes an analog signal processing circuit, a pair of analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and a digital signal processing circuit. The analog signal processing circuit is arranged to perform analog signal processing on the detection signals to generate a plurality of output signals. In addition, the pair of ADCs are arranged to digitalize the output signals to generate a plurality of digital values. Additionally, the digital signal processing circuit is arranged to perform digital signal processing on the digital values and generate an arithmetic output, where the arithmetic output is utilized for generating the wobble signal or utilized as the wobble signal. An associated method for detecting wobbles on an optical disc is further provided.
