Abstract: This disclosure details the implementation of methods, systems and computer program products for a customer satisfaction engine (CSE). Embodiments of the CSE allow callers to key in customer satisfaction data using a rating system and/or to change customer service representatives (CSR) during the course of a customer service call rather than after the call has ended. Caller generated ratings may be stored in a database in association with the respective CSR profile for later access, analysis, and/or review. CSE embodiments may also allow customers to log in to a website and view operations made by the CSR as a service call progresses. CSE systems may provide for improved customer service and allow companies improved efficiency, monitoring and reporting of CSR performance.

Abstract: An approach is provided for blocking communication sessions. Attribute information of a user is acquired. A unique identifier is generated based on the acquired attribute information. The unique identifier is associated with a plurality of communication identifiers that are used to activate, respectively, a plurality of communication services, wherein the unique identifier is used to block communication sessions associated with the corresponding communication services.

Abstract: A method may include enrolling a subscriber device in an adaptive pricing service plan for providing telecommunication service to the subscriber device; associating, with the telecommunication service, a first pricing scheme including a first number of allotted minutes within a current billing cycle; tracking, for the subscriber device within the current billing cycle, cumulative used minutes of the telecommunication service; determining, using a forecasting model and the cumulative used minutes, prospective minutes usage with respect to the first number of allotted minutes for an entirety of the current billing cycle; generating, based on the prospective minutes usage, a recommendation related to a second pricing scheme including a second number of allotted minutes; and sending, within the current billing cycle, the recommendation to the subscriber device.

Abstract: A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions executable by at least one processor, the instructions to cause the at least one processor to bill a subscriber, enrolled in a multi-tiered pricing plan, a plan fee associated with the multi-tiered pricing plan, for each billing cycle of a plurality of billing cycles, for services associated with a subscriber device; track, for each billing cycle, an amount of usage of the services; determine, for each billing cycle, a pricing tier corresponding to the tracked usage; and bill the subscriber, for each billing cycle, a fee associated with the corresponding pricing tier, wherein at least two of the corresponding pricing tiers differ.

Abstract: An approach is provided for enabling advertisers to correlate a communication session with an amount of consumption of the advertisement by a viewer. A correlation platform tracks an amount of consumption of an advertisement presented via a set-top box associated with a user. The amount of consumption of the advertisement is then correlated to a communication session initiated by the user in response to the presentation of the advertisement.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for customizing messages. The apparatus includes a communications unit and a processing unit. The communications unit can be configured to receive a message from a sender and intended for one or more target recipients. The communications unit can also be configured to receive one or more message customization indicators that are from either or both of the sender and respective ones of the target recipients. The message customization indicators are respectively related to identifying characteristics of the respective target recipients and the sender when provided by the sender and respective ones of the target recipients. The processing unit can be configured to cause respective output versions of the message to be outputted to the target recipients, each respective output version being output in a format consistent with the message customization indicators and at least one of the respective output versions being different from another of the respective output versions.

The system may comprise an input module of the second operations support system configured to receive the standardized data sheet and a processor module of the second operations support system configured to update the standardized data sheet based on processing operations at the second operations support system and to generate executable code to support interface functionality based on definitions of the standardized data sheet.

Abstract: An approach for enabling a purchaser to dynamically direct retail offers to peers within their social network based on a purchase transaction is described. A deal sharing platform maintains a list of one or more items and associated cost information corresponding to a financial transaction conducted with a vendor system. The deal sharing platform retrieves from the list an offer relating to the items based on the transaction and a selection criteria for a predetermined group of one or more recipients specified by a user. An option to distribute the offer to the predetermined group is then initiated for presentation on a communication device of the user.

Abstract: An approach for configuring a mobile device to enable accident detection and notification functionality for use within a vehicle is described. An emergency notification platform receives position information and acceleration information associated with a mobile device. The emergency notification platform applies a rule to the position information and the acceleration information to determine an alert condition. A notification message is then generated for presentation on the mobile device based on the application of the rule, wherein the notification message specifies information relating to the alert condition.

Abstract: A system is configured to: receive information identifying a geographic location of a user device of the user; identify a first recording device based on the geographic location and preferences of the user; instruct the first recording device to record content associated with the user; receive the content from the first recording device in response to instructing the first recording device to record the content; identify a first list of followers of the user based on the preferences of the user; and broadcast the content to follower devices corresponding to the first list of followers.

Abstract: A content processing device is configured to receive a media stream via a network. The media stream may be analyzed to detect whether an anomaly is present in the media stream indicative of a potential quality defect in playback of the media stream. Data relating to a detected anomaly may be provided to a destination via the network.

Abstract: User imaging terminals (such as mobile phones with camera or video functionality) may be used to take images that are used to create an image stream of an event. In one implementation, a device may receive the images and transmit the images to one or more second users. The device may receive indications, from the second users, of whether the images are approved by the second users for incorporation into an image stream; and generate the image stream, based on the images that are approved by the second users. The image stream may be transmitted to one or more display devices.

Abstract: An exemplary system includes an access management facility and a message processing facility communicatively coupled to the access management facility. The access management facility is configured to generate and activate an access code, and initiate providing of the access code to a potential message source. The message processing facility is configured to receive an incoming message, determine whether the incoming message includes the access code, deliver the incoming message to a user if the incoming message is determined to include the access code, and not deliver the incoming message to the user if the incoming message is determined not to include the access code. In certain implementations, the access code is used in conjunction with a set of authorized message sources for selectively filtering the incoming message. Abstract: An approach is provided for automatic location-based imaging. User positional information is determined based on a mobile device associated with a user. The user positional information is correlated with camera positional information of a camera configured to capture one or more images of the user. The one or more images are retrieved from the camera based on the correlation.

Abstract: An approach is provided for tracking personal items. A triggering event associated with tracking a personal item is detected via a bearer tag coupled to the personal item. Sensing of the bearer tag is initiated in response to the detection of the triggering event. A determination of whether location of the personal item satisfies a predetermined criterion is made. A notification is generated if the criterion is satisfied.

Abstract: An approach is provided for alerting registered devices of an emergency call, detecting an emergency call from a calling device; determining an identifier of the calling device; retrieving a list of one or more registered devices based on the identifier; determining location information of the calling device; and generating a notification message for transmission to the one or more registered devices, wherein the notification message specifies notification of the emergency call and the location information of the calling device.

Abstract: An approach is provided for presenting video assets. A first appointment message from a first service provider system relating to a first appointment with a user is received. Also, a second appointment message from a second service provider system relating to a second appointment with the user. A first calendar entry is generated in response to the first appointment message. A second calendar entry is generated in response to the second appointment message. User profile information corresponding to the user is retrieved to determine one or more user devices that are specified to receive the calendar entries.

Abstract: An approach for permitting an unregistered user of a mobile device to utilize a communication service. It is detected that a user of a mobile device is not registered with a service provider to utilize the mobile device. Authentication information supplied by the user of the mobile device is collected. A request, including the authentication information, is generated for using a communication service of the service provider. In response to the request, an acknowledgement message is selectively received granting permission for the user to utilize the communication service if the authentication information is valid.

Abstract: An approach is provided for automatic location-based imaging. A platform receives, over a communication network, positional information corresponding to a location of a device associated with a user. The platform determines whether the location is within a zone including a pre-positioned camera and retrieves one or more images or sounds of the user from the camera based on the determination. The platform can receive the positional information in real-time or as cached positional information. The cached positional information can then be correlated with the one or more images at a later time.
