  • Publication number: 20240031277
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device generates a plurality of smoothed timeseries by applying smoothing envelopes of different durations to a timeseries of a path metric for a path in a network that is used to convey traffic of an online application. The device uses the plurality of smoothed timeseries and the timeseries of the path metric to make predictions as to whether the path will provide an unacceptable user experience in the online application. The device selects a smoothing envelope of a particular duration, by comparing performance metrics for the predictions. The device uses a timeseries of the path metric smoothed using the smoothing envelope of the particular duration to make predictive routing decisions in the network for the traffic of the online application.

  • Publication number: 20240031278
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device obtains quality of experience metrics for an online application whose traffic traverses a particular interface of a router located at a first site in a network. The device identifies a correlation between throughput of the particular interface and the quality of experience metrics for the online application. The device makes a determination that the correlation is a root cause of degradation of the quality of experience metrics for the online application at least in part by determining whether throughput of an interface of a remote router located at a second site in the network is correlated with the quality of experience metrics. The device configures, based on the determination, a priority queue associated with the particular interface for use by traffic of the online application.

  • Publication number: 20240020000
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and system for tuning a memory device for high-speed transitions. Upon failure of bus sampling tuning of a memory device with default tuning parameters, the host device is configured to transmit an auto-tuning request to the memory device for until one or more pre-defined conditions are satisfied. The memory device is configured to receive the auto-tuning request from the host device, selects a set of tuning parameters from a plurality of sets of tuning parameters, and transmits a tuning block to the host device based on the selected set of tuning parameters, until one or more pre-defined conditions are satisfied. Thereby, the memory device can utilize high-speed mode and high-speed transitions can be achieved between host and memory devices. Thus, initialization failure of the memory device can also be avoided.

  • Publication number: 20240015087
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device obtains telemetry data associated with application traffic for an online application. The device identifies, based on the telemetry data, a network path as potentially exhibiting transient events during which a performance metric of the network path is degraded that are undetected at a first probing frequency for the network path. The device determines a new probing frequency for the network path, to detect the transient events. The device causes probes to be sent along the network path according to the new probing frequency.

  • Patent number: 11861172
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing single I/O writes are provided. According to one embodiment, responsive to receipt of a write operation from a client by a file system layer of a node of a distributed storage system and a data payload of the operation having been determined to meet a compressibility threshold, an intermediate storage layer of the node logically interposed between the file system layer and a block storage media is caused to perform a single input/output (I/O) write operation that persists the compressed data payload and corresponding metadata to support asynchronous journaling of the write operation. The single I/O write operation coupled with the use of a new pool file that maintains a list of available blocks for single I/O write operations and a modified node crash recovery approach allows the write operation to be acknowledged to the client while the journaling is performed asynchronously.

  • Publication number: 20230421538
Abstract: The present solution provides systems and methods for establishing and implementing a hostname-based split tunneling of client-side network traffic. A driver on a client can receive a first packet of an application that includes a hostname of a destination. The driver can receive from an agent of the client a real IP address and a spoofed IP address corresponding to the hostname, when the hostname matches one of a plurality of hostnames to exclude packet traffic from a VPN tunnel of the agent. The driver can receive from the agent a domain name service (DNS) response that includes the spoofed IP address and send the DNS response to cause the application to include the spoofed IP address in a second packet for the destination.

  • Publication number: 20230396965
Abstract: Methods and systems for RRC state maintenance for receiving multicast and broadcast services. Embodiments detect, by a UE, MBS transmission and/or reception from MAC entities associated with the UE, when the UE is operating in RRC_CONNECTED state. If expiry of a data inactivity timer, which is started on determining the MBS transmission and/or MBS reception, is detected, upper layer in the UE can be informed about the expiry of the data inactivity timer. Thereafter, the UE transitions to RRC_IDLE or RRC_INACTIVE states. A MBS specific data inactivity timer can be configured on determining the MBS transmission and/or MBS reception; and if the MBS specific data inactivity timer expires, the upper layers facilitate transition to the RRC_IDLE or RRC_INACTIVE states. The UE can receive MBS configuration or commands, from a network, to remain in RRC_CONNECTED state, transition to RRC_CONNECTED state, or transition to RRC_IDLE or RRC_INACTIVE states.
