  • Publication number: 20080209204
Abstract: A method of enhancing security in network management for SNMPv2c packet traffic over internet between a (sending) manager location and an (receiving) agent location uses a pluggable security application function. The manager location has a manager side security application (MSA) and may include one or more managers. The agent location has an agent side security application (ASA) and may include one or more agents. Upon a SNMP request from a manager to the MSA, the request is encrypted, appended with authentication digest and sent to a registered agent in ASA. The MSA receives a secured response packet back from the ASA, which after authentication decrypts and forwards it to the intended manager. Thus, an existing protocol implementation is maintained, while reducing additional network overhead. The method obviates the use of IPSec tunnels and migration to SNMPv3.

  • Patent number: 7372463
Abstract: A method and a system for computer graphics animation is disclosed. The present invention provides a novel client-server architecture for scalable computer animation particularly adapted to computer animation. The animation tasks are identified as those that scale well and those that do not, and scalable animation tasks are sent to servers while non-scalable tasks are sent to the client. For computing animation tasks at the servers, the present invention provides a novel, intelligent parallel processing distribution engine that distributes the scalable animation tasks among several servers highly efficiently. Furthermore, the present invention provides intelligent animation engine at the scalable animation servers, incorporating intelligent animation algorithms, including AI methodologies such as neural net, genetic algorithm, and optical flow analysis. Scalable client-server animation incorporating AI methodologies is novel.

  • Publication number: 20030219504
Abstract: A pressure measuring device for an injection molding machine, includes a stroke drive mechanism operatively connected to a plasticizing unit of an injection molding machine, a force transmission member elastically deforming in response to an axial force and having one side facing the drive mechanism and another side facing the plasticizing unit. Each side of the force transmission member has at least two elevated supports, wherein the supports on one side are positioned in offset relationship to the supports of the other side. A sensor element is provided to measure a bending deformation of the force transmission member in a peripheral area thereof between two supports of the force transmission member for determining the injection pressure.
