A repository of health maintenance guidelines and associated time information is customized for the particular user based on characteristics including age, sex, and health condition. A processor employs the guidelines, associated time information, and retrieved medical record information of the particular user to initiate generation of a message at a particular time. The message prompts the particular user to initiate action in support of preventive care health maintenance of the particular user. A communication processor processes the message for output communication.

Each image-processing algorithm of the number of image processing algorithms is associated with a diagnosis of the number of diagnoses and is designed to search for a pattern which is specific to the respective diagnosis. The selected image-processing algorithm then is applied to the picture and a pattern which is detected by the selected image-processing algorithm is marked on the screen in the picture.

Abstract: In a method and system for retrieving a medical image from a data base, an image processing algorithm is applied to a first medical image. The result of the applied image processing algorithm to the first medical image is compared with a plurality of results being stored in a data base.
