When an email message is received by a user, and the user chooses to forward the received email message, an option is provided to the user to either include the full header information of the received email in the forwarded email, or to not include the full header information of the received email in the forwarded email.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for storing messages using multiple communication modalities, in which a first communication is received from a first communication system. One embodiment of a method includes receiving a message in a first protocol and converting the message from the first protocol to the second protocol. Some embodiments include storing the converted message in a temporary mailbox created for storing messages of the second protocol, sending the converted message to a storage component associated with the second protocol, and destroying the temporary mailbox.

In one embodiment, incoming IM messages from multiple IM systems are translated and displayed to the user. Similarly, outgoing IM messages from the user are translated for compatibility with each of the multiple IM systems, thereby permitting communication between the user and contacts at the multiple IM systems. In another embodiment, an incoming IM message from one of the IM systems is translated for compatibility with each of the other IM systems, thereby permitting communication between contacts at the multiple IM systems.

Abstract: Systems for forwarding an E-mail message to a user when instant messages from a sender cannot be forwarded to a secondary IM processing device comprise a primary IM processing device configured to send and receive E-mail messages and a router configured to route E-mail messages between the primary IM processing device and a sender's processing device. An E-mail user agent is coupled to the router and configured to provide access to E-mail information including an address of the sender such that an E-mail message can be sent to the sender's processing device. The router is further configured to receive notification at the primary IM processing device of a reply from the sender's processing device. Other systems and methods are also provided.

The tokenizing of these portions generates tokens that are representative of these portions. The generated tokens are used to determine whether or not the email message is spam. In some embodiments, the tokenized portions may include attachments in email messages. In other embodiments, the tokenized portions may include a simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP) email address and a domain name corresponding to the SMTP email address.
