Publication number: 20120192069Abstract: Embodiments are directed to dynamically transforming user interface actions into executable script commands and to storing groups of executable script commands related to specific tasks. In an embodiment, a computer system tracks user interface actions at a software program user interface. The computer system transforms the user interface actions into an executable script command. The script command is configured to perform the tracked user interface action when executed. The computer system also dynamically displays the resulting executable script commands in a script command window as the user interface actions are entered by the computer user. The computer system may further determine that multiple user interface actions correspond to a specified task and store the resulting executable script commands related to the specified task as a combined group of executable script commands.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2011Publication date: July 26, 2012Applicant: MICROSOFT CORPORATIONInventors: Elisa W. Patent number: 8187097Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for the measurement and input of position information and/or information regarding the position and/or movement and/or speed of a target of interest, e.g., without requiring a hand-held controller. According to further aspects of the present invention, systems and methods are provided for removing background images, such as furniture and other items, shadows, etc., in the environment of an associated camera or cameras. The elimination of background images behind the subject reduces processing requirements to track the movements of a participant, and may avoid the potential of the image processing logic to confuse the background with the image of the subject. Parabolic LEDs are also provided, which provide safe illumination and gating. As an alternative to gating, a grating or grid light source may be utilized. Still further, a participant's image may be integrated into video applications including games.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2009Date of Patent: May 29, 2012Inventor: Evan Y. W. Zhang

Patent number: 8176071Abstract: Techniques are described herein for providing protocol extensions to the WS-Enumeration protocol. A selection protocol extension to the WS-Enumeration protocol enables retrieval of partial representations of objects from a directory server. The partial representations include attributes of the objects that are designated via the selection protocol extension. A sorting protocol extension to the WS-Enumeration protocol enables sorting of objects (or partial representations thereof) to be retrieved from a directory server. The selection and sorting protocol extensions are defined in respective XML elements that are distinct from an XML element that defines an object request including a query filter for selecting objects in the directory server. The selection and sorting protocol extensions may be used independently from each other. The computer languages utilized by the aforementioned XML elements need not necessarily be the same. For instance, a different computer language may be used for each.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2009Date of Patent: May 8, 2012Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Matthew S. Rimer, Elisa W. Zhang

Publication number: 20120103800Abstract: A control system and method for controlling two motors determining the azimuthal and circumferential position of a magnetron rotating about the central axis of the sputter chamber in back of its target sputtering and capable of a nearly arbitrary scan path, e.g., with a planetary gear mechanism. A system controller periodically sends commands to the motion controller which closely controls the motors. Each command includes a command ticket, which may be one of several values. The motion controller accepts only commands having a command ticket of a different value from the immediately preceding command. One command selects a scan profile stored in the motion controller, which calculates motor signals from the selected profile. Another command instructs a dynamic homing command which interrogates sensors of the position of two rotating arms to determine if the arms in the expected positions. If not, the arms are rehomed.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2012Publication date: May 3, 2012Applicant: APPLIED MATERIALS, INC.Inventors: Yu Chang, William Kuang, Ronald D. DeDore, Jitendra R. Publication number: 20110235663Abstract: A laser light source experiencing an EOL condition, which might otherwise cause an unscheduled shutdown, is instead operated in a diminished capacity in one or more predetermined or calculated increments. Operating in such diminished capacity continues until the laser system can undergo appropriate maintenance either during a regularly scheduled shutdown or a newly scheduled shutdown. In the meantime, the diminished capacity of the laser system is accommodated by the utilization tool, as appropriate.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2010Publication date: September 29, 2011Inventors: Robert P. Patent number: 7345277Abstract: An infrared imaging device combines two sensors, each sensor sensitive to a different spectral range of infrared radiation. Both sensors are combined in a single camera sharing one of three common optical apertures, thus parallax is eliminated between the sensors. Further, a display device is aligned along an optical axis in common with the camera eliminating parallax between the display and camera. Images from the first sensor, the second sensor, or both sensors may be viewed optically and/or electronically. The device is handheld, or mountable on a headgear such as a helmet. When mounted on headgear, the display is viewable by directing the operator's gaze upward, thus the display does not interfere with an operator's straight and downward sight. The image can be sent to a remote display by a wireless transceiver, and waterproof, fireproof, vibration/impact resistance, and hot/cold weather resistance are achieved using a high strength plastic enclosure with foam insert.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2001Date of Patent: March 18, 2008Inventor: Evan Y.
