    Abstract: An asymmetric tetradentate metal complex of a N{circumflex over (?)}C{circumflex over (?)}C{circumflex over (?)}N comprising tetradentate ligand has a metal connected to binding sites which are connected to each other via three or four covalent bonds that can be either single or double bonds with bridging linkers reside between C{circumflex over (?)}C and C{circumflex over (?)}N moieties. These linkers result in three-dimension metal complexes with distorted square planar geometries. The four donor atoms coordinate to a metal center. Upon metal binding a 5-6-6 membered metallocycle is formed upon chelation including a first nitrogen donor bond, a first metal-carbon bond, a second metal-carbon bond, and a second nitrogen donor bond. The light emission from these metal complexes can be tuned by the ligand structure over the entire visible spectrum.

    Abstract: Compositions and methods for the preparation of high purity arginase and high efficiency preparation of monosubstituted polyethylene glycol conjugation of arginase are provided, as are methods for using arginase in combination with asparaginase to inhibit cancer cells. High purity arginase is provided by applying an initial high temperature precipitation step, followed by ion exchange to provide arginase at a purity of 90% or greater. Conjugation with either linear or branched polyethylene glycol is performed using a maleimide-derivatized polyethylene glycol at low molar excess relative to arginase and at reduced temperature. Such polyethylene glycol-derivatized arginase is useful in combination with asparaginase in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, particularly cells that have low endogenous asparaginase expression.

The light source assembly is attached on edge of the optical bench, via adhesion processes, such as solder welding. Optical components such as collimator lens, isolator, etc are first passively aligned on the optical bench using alignment marks and epoxy slots provided on the surface of the optical bench. Then, laser diode, mounted on a laser diode sub-mount, is aligned in X and Z direction. Thereafter, the light source assembly is pushed towards the edge of the optical bench and attached with the edge via a solder joint. Also, a compensator can be actively aligned until the optimum light intensity achieved.
