  • Patent number: 8082232
Abstract: First information representing a plurality of snapshot acquisition time points of the data storage device, journal management data which are second information including the time point at which data are written to the data storage device and the size of the journal for writing the data, and third information representing a plurality of recovery points are acquired. The total transfer data size of one or more data to be transferred in order to recover the data group of the data storage device at the recovery point is calculated for each recovery point on the basis of the first information, journal management data, and third information. A display screen that visualizes the correspondence relationship between the respective recovery points and respective recovery load information representing a recovery load that is expressed on the basis of the total transfer data size calculated for the respective recovery points is displayed.

  • Patent number: 8071234
Abstract: A battery pack having a plurality of battery cells (10) connected in series and/or parallel. The battery pack is provided with a plurality of battery cells (10), each encased in a rectangular external case, and a plurality of separators (20) with electrical and heat insulating properties covering the outside of each battery cell external case excluding electrode terminals (12). Each separator (20) is disposed so as to intervene between adjacent battery cells (10) putting the external cases of those battery cells (10) in contact with both sides of the separator (20). With the external case of each battery cell (10) covered by separators (20) while exposing electrode terminals (12), the electrode terminals (12) are connected together. As a result, excluding required regions, the battery cells (10) can be enclosed and unintended events such as short circuits can be effectively prevented.

  • Publication number: 20110252213
Abstract: This storage system modifies the migration plan in accordance with the state of the migration destination when a plurality of volumes are migrated all at once. Migration-source volumes are migrated collectively to volumes inside the migration-destination storage apparatus. The user can make settings related to migration-source volumes and migration-destination volumes in a migration plan, and can establish a mid-process control plan for modifying the migration plan in the middle of processing. If a failure occurs in the migration-destination storage apparatus subsequent to the commencement of data migration processing, a processing method controller either cancels or temporarily halts the data migration processing, or changes the migration destination, on the basis of the mid-process control plan. When changing the migration destination, a previously selected alternate storage apparatus is selected as the new migration-destination storage apparatus.

Abstract: A power supply device includes a battery block 3 of battery cells 1. Cooling gaps 4 are provided for flowing cooling gas between cells 1 from a side surface of the block 3 into the gaps 4. The width of a temperature equalizing plate 15 covering the side surface of the block 3 varies designed so that the amounts of the gas flowing into the gaps 4 are reduced toward the upstream side. The upstream side of the plate 15 is fastened to the block 3. The plate 15 includes protrusions 37 that protrude from the downstream side of the plate 15. Insertion portions 39 are arranged at positions of coupling members 11 corresponding to the protrusions 37 on side surface of the block 3. When the protrusions 37 of the plate 15 are inserted into the insertion portions 39, the plate 15 is attached to the coupling members 11.

  • Publication number: 20110078395
Abstract: In a management computer which manages a storage system including a main logical volume and subsidiary logical volumes, when the access volume to the main logical volume exceeds a threshold value, a subsidiary logical volume associated with a physical volume having higher input/output performance than the physical volume associated with the main logical volume is selected. When the migration time of the data stored in the physical volume corresponding to the selected subsidiary logical volume is within a prescribed time period, then data stored in the physical volume corresponding to the main logical volume is migrated to the physical volume corresponding to the selected subsidiary logical volume, and the physical volume corresponding to the selected subsidiary logical volume is associated with the main logical volume.

  • Patent number: 7853769
Abstract: Provided is a storage medium management system, in which when the same data as that stored in a first physical storage area is stored in a second physical storage area, a storage system connected to a host computer compares the number of remaining rewritable times for the first physical storage area and the number of remaining rewritable times for the second physical storage area with each other. When the number of remaining rewritable times for the first physical storage area is less than the number of remaining rewritable times for the second physical storage area, the storage system writes data written from the host computer to the second physical storage area and copies the data written in the second physical storage area to the first physical storage area.

  • Publication number: 20100274767
Abstract: The present invention provides a backup method that makes it possible to specify the recovery-enabled time of an application even in a case where a backup has been performed without staticizing the application. In response to a first instruction from a management computer, a storage system backs up a first volume to a second volume at a first time while a first host computer continues to process an application. In response to a second instruction from the management computer, a second host computer reads out the data of the second volume and acquires a second time that is the time at which the application is recovery-enabled. The management computer stores the relationship between the backup and the second time in backup catalog information.
