Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For instance, a base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), control signaling indicating a configuration for transmitting a reference signal for reconfigurable surface configuration. The base station may receive, via a reconfigurable surface, the reference signal based on transmitting the control signaling. For instance, the reconfigurable surface may reflect the reference signal to the base station using a first configuration of the reconfigurable surface. The base station may transmit, to a controller of the reconfigurable surface, a set of parameters for configuring the reconfigurable surface to a second configuration for communications between the base station and the UE based on receiving the reference signal via the reconfigurable surface.

  • Publication number: 20240362855
Abstract: System and method are disclosed for training a generative adversarial network pipeline that can produce realistic artificial depth images useful as training data for deep learning networks used for robotic tasks. A generator network receives a random noise vector and a computer aided design (CAD) generated depth image and generates an artificial depth image. A discriminator network receives either the artificial depth image or a real depth image in alternation, and outputs a predicted label indicating a discriminator decision as to whether the input is the real depth image or the artificial depth image. Training of the generator network is performed in tandem with the discriminator network as a generative adversarial network. A generator network cost function minimizes correctly predicted labels, and a discriminator cost function maximizes correctly predicted labels.

  • Publication number: 20240340049
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to the generation of channel state reports and precoding a wireless transmission based on frequency division duplex (FDD) reciprocity. A base station (B S) uses at least two precoders to transmit signals to A user equipment (UE). The UE generates a set of channel state reports, in which the UE transmits a first set of channel coefficients using a first timing, a set of port attributes using a second timing, and a second set of channel coefficients using a third timing. The first set of channel coefficients correspond to a first precoded portion of the wireless transmission, and the set of port attributes and the second set of channel coefficients correspond to a second portion of the wireless transmission. The BS modifies at least one of the precoders based on the channel state reports. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Publication number: 20240335941
Abstract: It is recognized herein that current approaches to autonomous operations are often limited to grasping and manipulation operations that can be performed in a single step. It is further recognized herein that there are various operations in robotics (e.g., assembly tasks) that require multiple steps or a sequence of motions to be performed. To determine or plan a sequence of motions for fulfilling a task, an autonomous system that includes a robot can perform object recognition, pose estimation, affordance analysis, decision-making, probabilistic task or motion planning, and object manipulation.

  • Publication number: 20240313838
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless communications system may support compression of channel information (e.g., channel feedback) in accordance with multiple compression schemes, from which a transmitting device may select for a channel reporting transmission. For example, a user equipment (UE) may be configured with multiple channel state information compression schemes, corresponding to different encoders or decoders, which may involve various machine learning or neural network techniques. The UE may select or otherwise determine which compression scheme to use for channel reporting in various scenarios, including a selection based on whether a compression scheme maintains relatively accurate reporting, or whether a more power-intensive or processor-intensive compression scheme is supported by an operating mode of the UE, among other selection criteria.

  • Publication number: 20240275440
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for reducing channel state information (CSI) feedback overhead sent from one or more user equipments (UEs) to a network entity, such as a base station (BS) or gNodeB (gNB), while ensuring correct mapping of the CSI feedback at the network entity. In some cases, the overhead reduction may be achieved by converting the CSI feedback to size-reduced and further quantized representative coefficients (e.g., for multiple UEs). The quantized coefficients allow the network entity to recover the CSI feedback by de-quantizing and correctly mapping the quantized coefficients to recover the CSI feedback.

  • Publication number: 20240243791
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) located in a near field of a base station may receive a beamformed signal from the base station via a three-dimensional (3D) transmission beam. The UE may receive the signal at an antenna panel and detect a signal strength distribution of the signal at the antenna panel. The UE may calculate a signal weight for each portion of the antenna panel and determine beam adjustment information based on the signal weights. The UE may report the beam adjustment information to the base station, and the base station may use the beam adjustment information to adjust the beamwidth of the 3D transmission beam for subsequent transmissions to the UE, which may increase a beamforming gain at the antenna, and improve communication data rate.

  • Publication number: 20240198515
Abstract: A covariate shift generally refers to the change of the distribution of the input data (e.g., noise distribution) between the training and inference regimes. Such covariate shifts can degrade the performance grasping neural networks, and thus robotic grasping operations. • Publication number: 20240198526
Abstract: In some cases, grasp point algorithms can be implemented so as to compute grasp points on an object that enable a stable grasp. It is recognized herein, however, that in practice a robot in motion can drop the object or otherwise have grasp issues when the object is grasped at the computed stable grasp points. Path constraints that can differ based on a given object are generated while generating the trajectory for a robot, so as to ensure that a grasp remains stable throughout the motion of the robot.
