    Abstract: An updating apparatus and method for an access control parameter and a communication system. The updating method includes: determining by a UE access class barring information for performing access control and update period information for updating the access class barring information; and updating the access class barring information by the UE based on the update period information. The UE itself improves fairness of the access, and the network side updates the access control parameter only when the network payload is modified, which may lower power consumption of the UE in access, avoid frequent occurrence of paging and reduce use of broadcast resources of the system.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for paging a UE and a communications system. The method includes: calculating a first-grade paging group index based on an inherent identity of the UE, or based on an inherent identity of the UE and a network configuration parameter; calculating a second-grade paging group index based on a network identity allocated by an MME; receiving indication information for indicating paging group indices transmitted by a base station; determining whether the information contained in the indication information is consistent with the first-grade paging group index and the second-grade paging group index; and decoding a downlink data channel to determine whether the UE is paged when it is consistent. Hence, different paging groups may have identical or approximate numbers of UEs, which may reduce a probability of “false paging” of the overall cell.

With a new CSI feedback mechanism of the embodiments of this disclosure, an eNB may avoid selecting UEs with a relatively large azimuth angle for pairing, and may only select or preferentially select UEs with a relatively small azimuth angle for pairing, thereby preventing loss of gains of beamforming of paired UEs, and improving performance of MUST transmission.

Traditional approaches that tackle these issues are mainly classified into two categories: video based recognition and non-image based localization. However, both suffer inherent drawbacks such as being limited to line-of-sight or requiring people to carry specific electronic devices which limit them even within relatively well controlled environments without considering public locations or rapidly emerging events. Accordingly, it would be beneficial to provide a system that implements a device free crowd counting methodology with no impact on network capacity and/or performance.
