    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that provide managing transmissions of sidelink positioning reference signals (PRS) with a timing advance offset (TA) from a sidelink node. In aspects, a sidelink node (e.g., a target user equipment (UE) or an assisting UE) may receive transmissions from a plurality of nodes (e.g., target UEs or assisting UEs). The sidelink node obtains at least one TA to be used by a transmitting node of the plurality of nodes for transmitting a sidelink PRS to the sidelink node (e.g., to advance the sidelink PRS transmission to the sidelink node with respect to the timing of the first transmission). The TA is an offset obtained by the sidelink node based on the receiving times of the transmissions from the plurality of nodes. The sidelink node may receive PRS transmissions from the plurality of nodes in a same symbol aligned within the same CP.

The UE receives the assistance data for the UE-based positioning, where the assistance data includes a list of virtual anchors and a list of positioning reference units (PRUs) that includes a set of virtual PRUs (VPRUs), where the list of virtual anchors and the list of PRUs are selected based on at least one of the location information of the UE or the list of anchors observed by the UE. The UE performs the UE-based positioning using at least one virtual anchor and at least one VPRU in the assistance data.

    Abstract: During positioning of a user equipment (UE), downlink (DL) positioning reference signals (PRS) transmitted by one or more transmission reception point (TRP) in a wireless communication system may be preempted or punctured by higher priority transmissions, such as ultra-reliable low-latency traffic (URLLC). A PRS preemption indication (PI) may be provided to a UE by a serving TRP identifying one or more TRPs affected by preemption. The PRS PI may further identify the time domain and frequency domain of the preempted DL PRS transmissions. The PRS PI may identify the time domain, e.g., based on a number of PRS symbols between two monitoring occasions, wherein only PRS symbols that contain downlink positioning reference signals associated with the group of TRPs are counted. The PRS PI may identify the frequency domain by identifying at least one of four or more frequency sub-bands of the preempted DL PRS transmissions.
