  • Patent number: 6758773
Abstract: A flashing dart has a hollow barrel, a point assembly, a transparent shaft, a circuit board, a battery and a resilient element. The barrel has a front end and a rear end and is made of conductive material. The point assembly is attached to the front end of the barrel. The transparent flight shaft is attached to the rear end of the barrel. The circuit board has an integrated circuit controller and is firmly mounted inside the barrel. The battery has two electrodes connected respectively to the barrel and the circuit board. The resilient element abuts the battery and allows the battery to be temporarily disconnected from the circuit board when the flashing dart strikes a dartboard or is thrown thereby activating the integrated circuit controller that causes the lighting element to emit light for a preset period of time.

  • Publication number: 20040084766
Abstract: A system-in-a-package device installs a second surface of an integrated passive devices (IPD) substrate onto a bearing substrate to achieve electric connection. At least an active device is then installed on a first surface of the IPD substrate by means of flip chip or wire bonding to achieve electric connection. Next, an encapsulant is formed to at least cover the active device or its contacts with the IPD substrate for protection. The system-in-a-package device uses conducting holes of the bearing substrate as contacts with the exterior. Thereby, more functions can be directly integrated into the same package to have the advantages of small package size, increased efficiency, and fast fabrication speed.

  • Publication number: 20040082310
Abstract: To control a switch device using a mobile terminal, the owner of the mobile terminal stores caller identification data that includes call numbers associated with an authorized caller group, and switching control identification data associated with predetermined ring tone parameters. During activation of the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal establishes a communications link with a communications network. When caller data associated with an incoming call received by the mobile terminal matches the pre-stored caller identification data while, upon termination of the incoming call, the characteristics of ring tones generated by the incoming call match one of the predetermined ring tone parameters, the switch device is switched to a desired mode in response to a control signal outputted by the mobile terminal and associated with the switching control identification data that corresponds to the matching predetermined ring tone parameter.

  • Publication number: 20040007917
Abstract: The present invention provides a cascaded network power control system comprising at least a controlled power site and a control center. The controlled power site has a front end processor (FEP). The FEP at least has two network ports (an uplink network port and a downlink network port). The control center uses an optical fiber to connect the network ports of the FEP, and uses the network ports of the FEP to establish contact with another controlled power site. The network ports are connected with network ports of a preceding controlled power site and the next controlled power site for transmission of a normal/abnormal signal of an intelligent electricity device (IED) of the preceding controlled power site. The normal/abnormal signal is transmitted to the IED of the local controlled power site via an RS232 or RS485 port.

  • Publication number: 20030068617
Abstract: Repeat sequences are the most abundant in the extragenic region of genomes, while a large number of regulatory elements are found in this region. The invention attempts to mine rules on how combinations of individual binding sites are distributed in repeat sequences. These mined association rules would facilitate identifying gene classes regulated by similar mechanisms and accurately predicting regulatory elements. Herein, the combinations of transcription factor binding sites in the repeat sequences are obtained, and data mining techniques are applied to mine the association rules from the combinations of binding sites. In addition, the associations are further pruned to remove insignificant associations and obtain a set of discovered associations. The discovered association rules are used to partially classify the repeat sequences in the repeat sequence database.
