  • Publication number: 20120205770
Abstract: A Schottky diode with high antistatic capability has an N? type doped drift layer formed on an N+ type doped layer. The N? type doped drift layer has a surface formed with a protection ring. Inside the protection ring is a P-type doped area. The N? type doped drift layer surface is further formed with an oxide layer and a metal layer. The contact region between the metal layer and the N? type doped drift layer and the P-type doped area forms a Schottky contact. The P-type doped area has a low-concentration lower layer and a high-concentration upper layer, so that the surface ion concentration is high in the P-type doped area. The Schottky diode thus has such advantages of lowered forward voltage drop and high antistatic capability.

  • Patent number: 8241476
Abstract: A novel on-line method is presented for the extraction and preconcentration of amino acids using a sol-gel coated column coupled to a conventional UV/vis detector. Extraction, stacking and focusing techniques are used in the preconcentration procedures. Sol-gel coatings are created by using N-Octadecyldimethyl[3(trimethoxysilyl)proply]ammonium chloride (C18-TMS) in the coating sol solutions. The resulting sol-gel coating carries a positive charge. For extraction, the pH of the samples is properly adjusted to impart a net negative charge to amino acids. A long plug of the sample is then passed through the sol-gel coated capillary to facilitate extraction via electrostatic interaction between the positively charged sol-gel coating and the negatively charged amino acid molecules. The focusing of the extracted amino acids is accomplished through desorption of the extracted amino acid molecules carried out by local pH change. The described procedure provides 150,000-fold enrichment effect for alanine.

Abstract: A semiconductor structure and a process thereof are provided. The semiconductor structure includes a semiconductor wafer having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, through silicon vias and a crack stopping slot. The through silicon vias are embedded in the semiconductor wafer and connected between the first surface and the second surface. The crack stopping slot is located in the periphery of the second surface of the semiconductor wafer. The depth of the crack stopping slot is less than or equal to the thickness of the semiconductor wafer. The process firstly provides a semiconductor wafer having through silicon vias. Then, the aforementioned crack stopping slot is formed at a back side of the semiconductor wafer opposite to the first surface. Next, the semiconductor wafer is thinned from the back side to expose a second end of each through silicon via.

  • Patent number: 8175980
Abstract: A hot video prediction system is provided. A video comments database stores video comments submitted by a plurality of users. A user social network constructor establishes a user social network according to the video comments. When new comments of a new video are received, a hot video predictor uses the user social network to determine a similar theme between the new video and hot videos that have been hot for a period of time, and predicts whether the new video will become popular accordingly. A social network adaptor checks the prediction, and modifies the user social network accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20120021062
Abstract: A method of producing stable disinfectant for use as a biocidal composition. The method comprises: A) providing reagents, B) asynchronously feeding the at least two of the reagents into a wide space, and C) allowing all the reagents to conic into contact and mix with each other. The reagents comprise: a) an amine source of disinfectant in concentrated form, b) an oxidizing halogen compound in concentrated form, and c) a diluent. The use of asynchronous feeding and a wide space results in a dynamic biocide regimen. This regimen results in a changing environment that infestations have difficulty adapting to. This method also imparts superior results due to the avoidance of channeling effects which would otherwise weaken the effects of the biocide.
