  • Publication number: 20130101683
Abstract: The invention is directed to compositions and methods of their use as effective biocidal agents for water streams. The composition comprises a halogen source, halogen stabilizers containing a sulfur bearing species and ammonium salts/urea, and an alkali. The sulfur bearing species includes sulfamic acid or its salt equivalent. By having optimized mixing ratio of halogen to stabilizer and that of ammonium salts to sulfamic acid or sulfamate, a synergistic effect occurs which both increases the efficacy of the composition as a biocide and it avoids adverse impacts on other chemicals that are present in the water stream. Best of all the composition is easy to form and easy to introduce into a water stream of concern. Its introduction can be as simple as mixing two containers of reagent prior to introduction to the water process stream.

  • Patent number: 8421179
Abstract: A Schottky diode with high antistatic capability has an N? type doped drift layer formed on an N+ type doped layer. The N? type doped drift layer has a surface formed with a protection ring. Inside the protection ring is a P-type doped area. The N? type doped drift layer surface is further formed with an oxide layer and a metal layer. The contact region between the metal layer and the N? type doped drift layer and the P-type doped area forms a Schottky contact. The P-type doped area has a low-concentration lower layer and a high-concentration upper layer, so that the surface ion concentration is high in the P-type doped area. The Schottky diode thus has such advantages of lowered forward voltage drop and high antistatic capability.

  • Patent number: 8385627
Abstract: When an inspection apparatus of a semiconductor device repeatedly executes computation of prescribed area data, such as image processing for detecting defects, procedures for commanding, data load, computation, and data store need to be repeated the number of times of the computation. This may impose a limitation on the speeding up of the operation. In addition, when performing parallel computation by a high-capacity image processing system for handling minute images, a lot of processors are needed, resulting in an increase in cost.

  • Patent number: 8309240
Abstract: This invention provides a battery, such as a lithium-ion battery, that includes an encapsulated fire-retardant material. In some embodiments, stable polymer spheres are used to encapsulate an effective fire-retardant material. Under normal operating conditions, the fire-retardant material does not contact the electrolyte, cathode, or anode, thus minimizing performance reduction that occurs when fire-retardant materials are in the direct presence of the electrolyte. Under thermal runaway or excessive temperatures, the fire retardant material vaporizes through the melted encapsulating phase, thereby releasing fire-retardant material to minimize or prevent flammability in the battery.
