  • Publication number: 20040056917
Abstract: A sensor configuration for use in detecting ink droplets ejected from an ink drop generator is provided. The sensor configuration includes a sensing element configured to receive a biasing voltage which creates an electric field from the sensing element to the ink drop generator. The sensor configuration also includes a sensing amplifier coupled to the sensing element, whereby the sensing element in imparted with an electrical stimulus when at least one ink droplet is ejected in the presence of the electric field, and thereafter passes in close proximity to the sensing element without substantially contacting the sensing element. Sensor configurations with a separate electrically biasing element which may or may not contact the ink droplets are also provided. Additionally, a printing mechanism having such sensor configurations and a method of making ink drop detection measurements are also provided.

  • Patent number: 6704881
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed to compensate for skew and asymmetry of a locally processed system clock used to synchronize an output signal, e.g., a data signal or a timing signal, from a logic circuit, for example a memory device. A first phase detector, array of delay lock loop (DLL) delay elements and accompanying circuitry are disclosed to phase-lock the rising edge of the output signal with the rising edge of the system clock XCLK signal. Additionally, a comparator circuit, a register delay, an array of DLL delay elements and accompanying circuitry are disclosed to add or subtract delay from the falling edge of the DQ signal in order to produce a symmetrical output of the DQ signal.

  • Publication number: 20040042282
Abstract: An apparatus and method for reducing the power consumption of a memory integrated circuit during a period of power down mode operation by interrupting the clocking transitions of a delay line. A memory integrated circuit may include a delay lock loop including a plurality of delay elements connected to one another in series and adapted to delay propagation of the signal of a free running clock. When the delayed signal is not required, as during a period of power down mode operation, the free running clock signal is prevented from reaching the delay lock loop. Consequently the delay elements do not toggle, and power associated with delay element toggling is saved.

  • Patent number: 6698694
Abstract: A tube position limiter comprises a supporting frame for locking to a wall and a positioning cylinder for receiving a tube. A center of the supporting frame is formed with a receiving hole for receiving the positioning cylinder. A top of the positioning cylinder is formed with a curl lip for receiving the tube. The positioning cylinder is placed into the receiving hole so that the curl lip of the positioning cylinder exactly places on the supporting frame. The helical wound tube is placed in a bottom of the positioning cylinder. A water inlet end of the tube exactly protrudes from a via hole at a bottom of the positioning cylinder. In use of the tube, the curl lip of the positioning cylinder has a round opening so that the tube is taken out easily. When it is desired to wind the tube, the tube is wound easily and conveniently.

  • Patent number: 6691214
Abstract: A calibration circuit for calibrating the input data path of a digital circuit is disclosed. A simple string of a repeating data pattern such as, e.g., “1100,” is sent on the data path. The digital circuit captures the data using a clock signal, examines the data signal for the predetermined pattern and adjusts a delay applied to the data signal until the predetermined pattern is recognized. Then the delay is further adjusted until the predetermined pattern is no longer recognized indicating that an edge of the eye of the data is near a clocking edge of the clocking signal. The delay applied to the data signal is then further adjusted by a predetermined amount to position the clock edge near the center of the data eye.

  • Publication number: 20030235106
Abstract: A memory device includes delay locked loop that generates an internal signal based on an external signal. The internal signal serves a reference clock signal for most modes operations of the memory device. In a self refresh mode, the delay locked loop is completely deactivated to completely deactivate the internal signal. In a non-self refresh mode, the delay locked loop is periodically deactivated to periodically deactivate the internal signal based on certain modes of operations of the memory device.

  • Patent number: 6663207
Abstract: Determining inkjet printer pen turn-on voltages is disclosed. An inkjet printer has a number of pens, and a number of sets of nozzles in each pen. Each set of nozzles of a pen is fired at each of a number of voltages, to obtain a voltage-value curve for each set of nozzles. A nozzle turn-on voltage for each set of nozzles is determined based on a maximum slope of its voltage-value curve. The turn-on voltage for each pen is determined based on the nozzle turn-on voltages of the voltage-value curves for its sets of nozzles.

  • Patent number: 6643194
Abstract: A method and apparatus for masking data written to a memory device that reduces the effective write cycle time of the memory device is disclosed. Firing of the column selects is pre-empted, thereby masking data to be written to a memory device. By pre-empting the column selects, the margin required for disabling a write driver can be eliminated, thereby reducing the effective write cycle. Additionally, data masking can be performed on a per-byte basis by associating independent column selects with each data byte on multi-byte wide devices, e.g., x16 or x32.

  • Publication number: 20030201348
Abstract: A spray nozzle has a main rod extended from a handle. The main rod is formed with a locking hole. A fixing hole is formed aside the locking hole. A spring and a rolling ball are pre-mounted in the fixing hole. A second half dome shape joint of a nozzle is protruded with an annular locking seat. A periphery of the annular locking seat is formed with an annular recess which is exactly communicated to the water inlet of the nozzle. A center of the annular locking seat is formed with a pivotal hole which is coupled to the locking hole of the main rod. The annular locking seat of the nozzle has a plurality of limiting holes; thereby, the rolling balls in the fixing hole of the main rod being confined in the limiting holes. The orientation of the nozzle is adjustable with respect to the main rod.

  • Publication number: 20030200065
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of target tracking and more generally to a method employing improved algorithms, which achieve excellent tracking performance for a high-g maneuvering target. The two-model Interacting Multiple Model algorithm and the Interacting Acceleration Compensation algorithm will be modified by introducing adaptive factors through the detection of the normalized innovation squared which is chi-square probability distributed. The implementation results show that the modified algorithms can handle the target sudden maneuver better and are more accurate than the original algorithms.
