  • Publication number: 20050085066
Abstract: A method of forming a copper interconnect in an opening within a pattern is described. The copper interconnect has an Rs that is nearly independent of opening width and pattern density. A first copper layer having a concave upper surface and thickness t1 is formed in a via or trench in a dielectric layer by depositing copper and performing a first CMP step. A second copper layer with a thickness t2 where t2?t1 and having a convex lower surface is deposited on the first copper layer by a selective electroplating method. The first and second copper layers are annealed and then a second CMP step planarizes the second copper layer to become coplanar with the dielectric layer. The invention is also a copper interconnect comprised of the aforementioned copper layers where the first copper layer has a grain density (GD1)?GD2 for the second copper layer.

Abstract: A compact, countertop water dispenser preferably dispensing ambient, chilled or hot water, and preferably allowing single-hand dispensing of ambient and child water, as well as child-resistant hot water dispensing. In one embodiment, powered by thermoelectrics, a side-mounted water container feeds a first reservoir, which feeds a second reservoir in liquid communication with hot and cold tanks. Predetermined reservoir water levels may be maintained by float switches and solenoid valves may be used to enable/disable water flow from the tanks and dispensing. Many other features are provided as described below.

  • Patent number: 6866382
Abstract: A method of producing and using photo media to print a glossy, photo-quality image. The image is printed onto the back of a coated transparent base. Thereafter, an opaque backing is applied to cover the printed image. The resulting print is viewed from the front, which provides the photo-quality, attractive appearance primarily because of the substantial gloss depth and uniformity attributable to the transparent base. The transparent base and backing protect the ink-receiving coating and make the resulting print very durable. The image is light fast because the ink is sandwiched between the transparent base and the backing, thereby sealing the ink from oxygen. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the backing is applied as a liquid using substantially the same mechanism as used for printing the image.

  • Publication number: 20050024985
Abstract: A memory device includes delay locked loop that generates an internal signal based on an external signal. The internal signal serves a reference clock signal for most modes operations of the memory device. In a self refresh mode, the delay locked loop is completely deactivated to completely deactivate the internal signal. • Patent number: 6850458
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for controlling a data strobe. A latency of operation relating to a data operation of a device is determined. A delay lock loop signal is generated for the data operation of the device. The delay lock loop signal is compared to an external clock to determine a phase difference. A determination is made as to whether the delay lock loop signal is early based upon the phase difference. A signal is adjusted in response to the latency of operation is performed based upon the determination that the delay lock loop signal is early.

  • Publication number: 20050007836
Abstract: A data strobe synchronization circuit includes first and second logic circuits receiving global data strobe pulses and respective enable signal. A control circuit initially applies an enable signal to the first logic circuit so that the first logic circuit generates a first data strobe pulse responsive to each global data strobe pulse. The control circuit receives a write control signal. When the write control signal becomes active, the control circuit terminates the enable signal applied to the first logic circuit and applies an enable signal to the second logic circuit. The second logic circuit then generates a second data strobe pulse responsive to the next global data strobe pulse. The first and second data strobe pulses are used to latch a data signal in respective flip-flops. The data strobe pulses may latch the data signal in pairs of flip-flops on the leading and trailing edges of the data strobe pulses.

  • Patent number: 6836437
Abstract: An apparatus and method for reducing the power consumption of a memory integrated circuit during a period of power down mode operation by interrupting the clocking transitions of a delay line. A memory integrated circuit may include a delay lock loop including a plurality of delay elements connected to one another in series and adapted to delay propagation of the signal of a free running clock. When the delayed signal is not required, as during a period of power down mode operation, the free running clock signal is prevented from reaching the delay lock loop. Consequently the delay elements do not toggle, and power associated with delay element toggling is saved.

  • Patent number: 6809974
Abstract: A method of monitoring the characteristics of a delay locked loop (DLL) in a memory device during a test mode is provided. The DLL generates an internal clock signal based on an external clock signal. The external and internal clock signals are normally synchronized. DLL constantly responds to variations in operating condition of the memory device to keep the external and internal clock synchronized.
