  • Publication number: 20210288499
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of operating a node of a power distribution system in an optimised manner so as to minimise transmission losses on an external power bus. A power generator feeds in electrical energy via an inverter capable of carrying out Volt/VAR control under the command of an optimiser associated with a supervised learning model such as a support vector machine. This optimisation takes place in two distinct training phases, one in which the supervised learning model is trained, another in which optimal control parameters for the inverter are obtained.

  • Publication number: 20210288932
Abstract: Users who are experiencing a shared content stream can exchange messages. Each user device can present a graphical user interface that includes controls to interact with a shared content stream being received and presented at the user device; a control to begin composing a message to other users who are receiving the shared content stream, and a display area to display previously received messages associated with the shared content stream. A message can be associated with a shared content stream, e.g., by providing a tag that identifies the content being played at the time the message was sent.

Abstract: Dipole audio speakers, and more particularly, voice controlled dipole audio speakers having at least one microphone located substantially along the null sound plane of the dipole audio speaker. An improved loudspeaker system that produces an improved audio quality for stereophonic sound. The improved loudspeaker utilizes conventional electro-dynamic drivers in a sealed chamber that produce sound primarily in the 20-300 Hz band coupled with electrostatic card stack drivers placed outside the sealed chamber that cover the remaining 98% of the audio frequency spectrum (300 Hz to 20 kHz). The improved loudspeaker system can also include multiple card stack drivers that are placed at angles with respect to each other to maximize audio fidelity.

  • Publication number: 20210229802
Abstract: An aircraft capable of carrying at least 400 pounds of payload, has four rotors systems, each of the rotor systems being independently driven by an electric motor or other torque-producing source. Each of the rotor systems provide sufficient thrust such that the aircraft is capable of controlled vertical takeoff and landing, even if one of the variable pitch rotor is inoperable. An electronic control system is configured to control the rotational speed and pitch of at least one of the rotor systems in each of the first and second rotor pairs. The rotors may be arranged in coaxial stacks or maybe otherwise configured.

  • Publication number: 20210219525
Abstract: A paint applicator (1) comprises a housing (3) defining a hollow interior region (4) having a circumferentially extending inner arcuate surface (20). A roller (5) provided with a circumferentially extending paint transfer surface (34) is rotatably mounted in the housing (3) about a rotational axis (7). A paint container (9) releasably secured to an inlet port (35) in the housing (3) communicates the paint container (9) with a communicating recess (37) formed into the inner arcuate surface (20) of the housing (3). The communicating recess (37) communicates the paint transfer surface (34) of the roller (5) with paint from the paint container (9) through the inlet port (35). The paint transfer surface (34) of the roller (5) cooperates with the inner arcuate surface (20) of the housing (3) in order to form a seal around the periphery of the communicating recess (37) when the roller (5) is stationary in the housing (3) to seal the paint in the communicating recess (37).

  • Patent number: 11066159
Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods are contemplated for electric powered vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Such are craft are engineered to carry safely carry at least 500 pounds (approx. 227 kg) using a few (e.g., 2-4) rotors, generally variable speed rigid (non-articulated) rotors. It is contemplated that one or more rotors generate a significant amount of lift (e.g., 70%) during rotorborne flight (e.g., vertical takeoff, hover, etc), and tilt to provide forward propulsion during wingborne flight. The rotors preferably employ individual blade control, and are battery powered. The vehicle preferably flies in an autopilot or pilotless mode and has a relatively small (e.g., less than 45? diameter) footprint.

  • Patent number: 11052285
Abstract: A system and method for using weather applied metrics for determining the impact of weather conditions on the flight of a ball at an outside sports venue. Historical and current data for weather parameters, including wind, air pressure, humidity, temperature, and rain, are obtained to calculate the influence of each parameter on the flight of a ball. The influences of each of the parameters are summed to model the flight of the ball based on the current weather conditions. Weather instruments, such as weather sensors, anemometers, LiDAR and SODAR devices, weather consoles, data routing devices, and processors can be included in a system for using weather applied metrics to predict the flight of a ball based on current weather conditions.
