  • Publication number: 20040133845
Abstract: A user interface and methods for accessing document presentations are described herein. In one aspect of the invention, an exemplary method of the invention allows a user to directly snapback to a previous accessed document presentation without having to select from a menu of items or go through the intermediate pages. In this method, when a first document presentation is accessed, a first location of the first document presentation is recorded, automatically or manually. Subsequently, when a sequence of additional document presentations originated from the first document presentation is accessed, in response to a first input, without having to select from a menu of items, the first document presentation is directly retrieved from a recorded first location and displayed in a window.

  • Publication number: 20040103803
Abstract: A printing system is disclosed including an inking system with a single form roller for applying ink to a printing cylinder. Ink is applied to the form roller by an applicator roller having a surface with an array of interconnected wells and a variable speed drive. The form roller and plate cylinder are rotated at the same rpm while the speed of the applicator roller is varied to vary the amount of ink applied to the plate. A variable speed subtractive roller system removes excess ink from the form roller and returns the ink to a common reservoir. For wash-up, the press drive and form roller are disengaged and the inking system is rotated by an inker roller drive while wash-up fluid is applied to the inking system.

  • Patent number: 6687362
Abstract: The automatic address book update system which automates the data collection and maintenance tasks for computerized address book systems. The automatic address book update system is architected to automatically update the data contained therein, by automatically populating the address entries of a subscriber's computerized address book system. This is accomplished as part of the origination/receipt of a telephone call by the subscriber, where the Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) maintains a customer database (identifying the name, address, telephone number) of their local customers and can also retrieve this information from other Local Exchange Carriers on a long distance call.

  • Publication number: 20040000445
Abstract: A hydrostatic drive system for a mass transit vehicle includes an engine that drives a hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump circulates high-pressure fluid through a circuit to two slave motors disposed at each driven wheel. The slave motors include a shaft rotated in proportion to the flow of fluid to drive a driven gear disposed on an axle supported by the frame of the motor vehicle. The hydrostatic drive transmits power from the engine through fluid pressure circulated by a hydraulic pump to the slave motors through a circuit composed of tubes or hoses. The tubes or hoses require little space compared to an axle assembly of a prior art inverted portal axle system.

  • Publication number: 20030223666
Abstract: A low spring rate multi-convoluted collapsible spacer adapted for use as a bearing preloading element. The collapsible spacer comprises a substantially tubular body compressible in an axial direction thereof from a predetermined free length to a substantially shorter length. The tubular body includes a yielding zone and an elastic zone adjacent to said yielding zone. Each of the yielding and elastic zones has at least one convolution curved in the same radial direction. An average thickness of the body of the spacer in the elastic zone is substantially greater than an average thickness of the body in the yielding zone that provides the collapsible spacer a substantially higher resiliency in the axial direction in the elastic zone than in the yielding zone. As a whole, the collapsible spacer has a relatively low spring rate, thus larger amount of “spring back”, hence less sensitivity to wear and maladjustment.
