  • Patent number: 10056237
Abstract: A coating system includes a vacuum chamber and a coating assembly. The coating assembly includes a vapor source, a substrate holder, a remote anode electrically coupled to the cathode target, and a cathode chamber assembly. The cathode chamber assembly includes a cathode target, an optional primary anode and a shield which isolates the cathode target from the vacuum chamber. The shield defines an opening for transmitting an electron emission current of a remote arc discharge from the cathode target to the remote anode that streams along the target face long dimension. A primary power supply is connected between the cathode target and the primary anode while a secondary power supply is connected between the cathode target and the remote anode. Characteristically, a linear remote anode dimension and a vapor source short dimension are parallel to a dimension in which an arc spot is steered along the cathode target.

  • Patent number: 9793098
Abstract: A vacuum coating and plasma treatment system includes a magnetron cathode with a long edge and a short edge. The magnetic pole of the magnetron results in an electromagnetic barrier. At least one remote arc discharge is generated separate from the magnetron cathode and in close proximity to the cathode so that it is confined within a volume adjacent to the magnetron target. The remote arc discharge extends parallel to the long edge of the magnetron target and is defined by the surface of the target on one side and the electromagnetic barrier on all other sides. There is a remote arc discharge cathode hood and anode hood extending over the arc discharge and across the short edge of the magnetron cathode. Outside of the plasma assembly is a magnetic system creating magnetic field lines which extend into and confine the plasma in front of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 9760715
Abstract: A method is provided of protecting a computer against malware affection. The computer has a data storage and an operating system for managing the data storage. The method comprises providing a filter module in the operating system which operates to detect an attempt to store data in the data storage, to determine a data format of the data to be stored in the data storage, and to prevent storage of the data if the data format is determined to relate to a predefined type. The filter module may be provided as a file system filter driver in a kernel of the operating system. The filter module may be arranged to operate between an input/output manager of the operating system and a driver associated with the data storage. The input/output manager and driver associated with the data storage may form part of the kernel of the operating system.

  • Patent number: 7953841
Abstract: The communication apparatus includes a VoIP phone, a VoIP gateway, a communication network, and a network analyzer. The VoIP phone is a transmitting/receiving device to transmit and receive a VoIP phone call. A plurality of VoIP phone calls are transmitted and received over the communication network via the VoIP gateway. The network analyzer analyzes and monitors the plurality of VoIP phone calls transmitted and received over the communication network. Accordingly, a respective VoIP phone call is identified from the plurality of phone calls and associated with a respective data stream to be monitored and analyzed by the network analyzer.

  • Publication number: 20110112672
Abstract: A library of audio segments of a song is generated by receiving recorded tracks that include a complete performance of or a composition of unique portions and repetitive portions of the song, segmenting a select track into intervals, analyzing each interval to characterize the interval, comparing each interval with subsequent intervals of the select track to identify repetitive content in the song, identifying a select interval from a set of repeated intervals from the select track and storing the encoded representation of each of the select intervals from a corresponding set of repeated intervals in the library. Intervals can be characterized by frequency analysis, cross-correlation of a waveform, by a trained ear or by analysis of a musical notation corresponding to the song. Intervals for compression can be based on beats, that is, the time for a designated note, notes, a measure, or multiple measures. One or more unique measures can be encoded for additional compression.

  • Patent number: 7838471
Abstract: The invention relates to compositions comprising a blend of Group II basestocks and low volatility, low viscosity PAO basestocks. The blend is particularly useful for preparing finished lubricants that meet or even exceed the criteria for SAE Grade 0W multi-grade engine oils. The combination of these low volatility, low viscosity PAOs with Group II basestocks provide, in embodiments, the necessary performance criteria in automatic transmission fluids, automotive or industrial gear oils, hydraulic fluids, or any other high performance lubricant requiring a combination of excellent low fluidity and low volatility.
