  • Publication number: 20100196093
Abstract: A vehicle destabilizing device that provides for the selective, remotely-deployed deflection and/or overturning of a targeted vehicle regardless of wheel or undercarriage configuration. The device is comprised of a combination of a remote arm/safe mechanism, a remote deployment switch, one or more lifting devices, a housing, and one or more structural members contiguously engaging the vehicle. The housing can be at least partially submerged in a road surface or protrude from the road surface so as to be driven over until deployed. • Publication number: 20100043072
Abstract: A method is provided of protecting a computer against malware affection. The computer has a data storage and an operating system for managing the data storage. The method comprises providing a filter module in the operating system which operates to detect an attempt to store data in the data storage, to determine a data format of the data to be stored in the data storage, and to prevent storage of the data if the data format is determined to relate to a predefined type. The filter module may be provided as a file system filter driver in a kernel of the operating system. The filter module may be arranged to operate between an input/output manager of the operating system and a driver associated with the data storage. The input/output manager and driver associated with the data storage may form part of the kernel of the operating system.

  • Patent number: 7637521
Abstract: A bracket attaches rigidly to the steering head tube member at the front of a motorcycle frame, so that the fork steering assembly can be relocated and pivotally attached to the front of the bracket. This bracket permits the fork steering assembly to be mounted in a new position which is ahead of, and higher, or lower than its former, manufacturer's specified position. The steering axis can be positioned such that it is tilted at a greater angle of inclination from the vertical, permitting use of longer fork tubes. The bracket permits any motorcycle to be reversibly modified to have the appearance and handling characteristics of a chopper style motorcycle. No modifications to the motorcycles frame are needed, in order to relocate the fork steering assembly. Thus, the originality and value of the motorcycle, if the owner decides to, later, revert to the original appearance, is maintained.

  • Patent number: 7257087
Abstract: An apparatus and method calculate a round-trip delay (RTD) between first and second endpoints within a network, where an intermediate point is selected between the first and second endpoints within the network. A network analyzer determines a first data transmission time from the intermediate point to the first endpoint and back to the intermediate point, determines a second data transmission time from the intermediate point to the second endpoint and back to the intermediate point, and adds the first and second data transmission times to determine therefrom the round trip delay between the first and second endpoints within the network.
