  • Publication number: 20100078459
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing sheet product includes a housing, a proximity sensor operative to detect a presence of a user's hand at a predetermined location near the dispenser, and a dispensing mechanism disposed within the housing, the dispensing mechanism including an electronic controller operably coupled to a drive motor that is operably coupled to a feed roller to dispense the sheet product. The dispensing mechanism is operative in a first mode to be responsive to a signal from the proximity sensor to dispense the sheet product, and is operative in a second mode to dispense a next sheet product in response to an existing sheet product being torn from the dispenser. The controller is responsive to a switch adapted and configured to set an adjustable time delay between sheet feeds when the dispensing mechanism is operating in at least one of the first mode and the second mode.

  • Publication number: 20080228147
Abstract: An injection device for use with a pre-filled syringe. The device features a track and track follower engagement which facilitates locking a protective needle guard over the tip of the needle at the conclusion of the injection. The device further includes a tamper evidence overcap which, once removed from the device cannot be readily reinstalled. The injection device features a tubular handle which is grasped by the hand and moved towards the injection site to administer the injection. The device is suitable for self-administration of injections. Use of the device is not technique dependent. Its design, including tubular handle which is grasped in one hand, is easy to use even by the elderly and persons with limited dexterity.

  • Patent number: 5339153
Abstract: A label inspection system automatically inspects print on labels carried seriatim on a web. The system comprises a photoelectric sensing system including a light inspection sensor sensing reflected light and an electrical control circuit providing an output at a select first or second electrical state dependent upon sensed reflected light being above or below a select level. The sensor is mounted at a select transverse position in a path of movement of the web to sense reflected light along a select longitudinal path of the web, the select longitudinal path including a portion of the labels carried on the web intended to have print, the print acting to minimize reflected light. A detect sensor sense proximity of the inspection sensor relative to a select longitudinal portion of each successive label and provide an enable signal relative thereto.
