  • Publication number: 20060106661
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention is directed to automatically extending a task in a project schedule. If certain information items associated with a task are not specified, the scheduled completion time for a task may be automatically extended under the assumption that if these information items are unknown, the task will take longer to complete than originally planned. The project schedule, incorporating the automatically extended tasks, may then be displayed.

  • Patent number: 6820816
Abstract: A thermostatic mixing valve (TMV) for operation across a range of flow rates wherein during low pressure operation water enters the TVM (100) into chamber (157) around the circumference of the valve member (150) and cold valve seat (140) and hot water enters into chamber (158), the hot and cold water entering chamber (235) and becoming thoroughly mixed. At low pressure drops, the check valves (230) remain closed so the only pathway the mixed water can follow is through the sensing chamber (125) and the mixed water enters discharge portion (120) to the mixed water outlet (245), the flow path of the hot and cold water shown by pathways (255) and (260), the water becomes thoroughly mixed before entering the sensing chamber (225).

  • Patent number: 6711163
Abstract: A bridge provides distributed multicast forwarding with sub-interface granularity. Forwarding decisions on multicast data packets transmitted on the bridge backplane are made by network interfaces by referencing local multicast databases. Each network interface forwards multicast data packets only on local ports which belong to the multicast group identified in the packet. A management interface transmits forwarding updates to the network interfaces. A particular network interface is made responsible for forwarding multicast packets to management interface for learning.

  • Patent number: 6610374
Abstract: A thin film layer can be formed on a glass substrate by preheating the substrate, depositing an amorphous silicon precursor layer on the substrate at a first temperature, and annealing the substrate in a thermal processing chamber at a second temperature sufficiently higher than the first temperature to substantially reduce the hydrogen concentration in the precursor layer. The preheating and annealing steps can occur in the same thermal processing chamber. Then the precursor layer is converted to a polycrystaline silicon layer by laser annealing.

  • Patent number: 6348176
Abstract: An analytical instrument for analyzing fluids. The instrument includes a cartridge carousel assembly which receives analytical cartridges. The analytical cartridges include a centrifugal force-operated sample metering/separation system, a pressure-operated sample transport system, and a test element which provides a detectable analytical property of a fluid sample. The cartridge carousel assembly includes a cartridge rotor plate which has a plurality of cartridge ports which receive the cartridges. A rotary drive mechanism rotates the cartridge rotor plate to provide rotation of the plate which activates the centrifugal force-operated sample metering/separation system of the cartridge. The instrument includes a sample transport actuator which activates the pressure-operated sample transport system of the cartridge. In addition, the instrument includes a detector which measures the detectable analytical property of the fluid sample after the sample metering and transport systems have been activated.

  • Patent number: 6155715
Abstract: A durable, water-resistant, locking pouch to safeguard package or parcel deliveries, with connected cable and anchor clamp. The cable provides a means to secure the pouch from under or behind a fixture such as a door. An anchor clamp, attached to the end of the cable furthest from the pouch, serves either as an anchor fastened to or placed behind a door, and prevents the device and its pouch with package/parcel contents from being dislodged.
