  • Publication number: 20200379657
Abstract: A method for execution by one or more processing modules of one or more computing devices of a dispersed storage network (DSN), the method begins by determining, in advance of a DSN data access request, an optimal routing configuration for the DSN data access request to a collection of one or more DS processing units. The method continues by assigning a final destination identifier (FDI) to the collection of one or more DS processing units. The method continues by associating a request router with the collection of one or more DS processing units and distributing the optimal routing configuration to each of the collection of one or more DS processing units and to the associated request router.

  • Patent number: 10827970
Abstract: Dimensions of a surface feature are determined by capturing an image of the surface feature and determining a scale associated with the image. Structured light may be projected onto the surface, such that the position of structured light in the captured image allows determination of scale. A non-planar surface may be unwrapped. The surface may alternatively be projected into a plane to correct for the scene being tilted with respect to the camera axis. A border of the surface feature may be input manually by a user. An apparatus and system for implementing the method are also disclosed.

Abstract: Methods for making hemoglobin based blood substitute preparations and hemoglobin based blood substitute preparations. The methods involve preparing a low purity erythrocyte protein fraction comprising hemoglobin protein and endogenous non-hemoglobin protein complement, and chemically modifying the proteins in the protein fraction to form a cross-linked hemoglobin containing blood substitute preparation. The low purity erythrocyte protein preparation can contain from at least about 0.2% (mole/mole) up to about 20% (mole/mole) endogenous non-hemoglobin protein complement. At least about 90% (mole/mole) of the hemoglobin proteins can be cross-linked, so that the average molecular mass of cross-linked proteins comprising hemoglobin protein molecules in the preparation is at least about 300 kDa. The preparations can be used to prepare finished blood substitute formulations for in-vivo and ex-vivo use.
