  • Publication number: 20230362424
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing subscriptions. A media guidance application obtaining viewing patterns of a subscriber and determining a first and second media package of interest to the subscriber. A first and second release schedule are obtained related to media content in the first and second media packages. The media guidance application predicts a first viewing impact of the first subscription and a second viewing impact of the second subscription, for the upcoming time period, wherein the viewing impact indicates a total predicted amount of time spent viewing the media packages in the upcoming time period. An available amount of time for viewing media in the upcoming time period is also determined. The media guidance application generates a subscription recommendation for the upcoming time period based on the first viewing impact, second viewing impact, and available amount of time for viewing media in the upcoming time period.

  • Publication number: 20230362447
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for modifying a fast-forwarding speed based on a reaction time of a user when a frame of interest is detected. A media guidance application may receive a command from a user to fast-forward through a media asset and may execute a fast-forwarding operation through frames of the media asset. The media guidance application may detect that the fast-forwarding operation is approaching a frame of interest to the viewer. The media guidance application may reduce the fast-forwarding speed to a second speed slower than the first speed, where the second speed is determined based on an estimated reaction time of the user. The media guidance application may receive a command to resume playback from the user while the fast-forwarding operation is occurring at the second speed and may play back the media asset at a default playback speed from a point corresponding to a moment when the command was received.

  • Patent number: 11798471
Abstract: Described is a display system comprising a light source, a scanning assembly, and a controller. The light source includes a first plurality of emitters forming a column that emits a first color. The light source also includes a second plurality of emitters forming a column that emits a different color. The scanning assembly includes a reflective surface rotated by the controller using a control signal having a nonlinear, pulsed waveform. The controller drives the first plurality of emitters and the second plurality of emitters in sequence, during respective portions of the nonlinear waveform, and in synchronization with rotation of the reflective surface such that light emitted by the first plurality of emitters and the second plurality of emitters is reflected onto a same pixel of an output image. The controller also adjusts emission durations of individual emitters to compensate for changes in the rotational speed of the reflective surface.

  • Patent number: 11794377
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems for making prepregs are disclosed. A method may include depositing a resin material onto a surface of a fiber bed and forming a number of discrete resin regions thereon. A distance between the resin regions may be measured to provide desired exposed portions of the surface to facilitate permeation of air through the exposed portions of the surface in a direction perpendicular to a plane of the fiber bed during a curing process of the prepreg.

  • Patent number: 11784940
Abstract: One example disclosed method involves a computing system determining that a first shared computing resource, included among a plurality of shared computing resources managed by a controller, is potentially faulty. The system may configure the controller to identify the first shared computing resource with a tag, the tag configured to cause the controller, in response to a client requesting the controller for access to a first application, to assign the first shared computing resource to deliver the first application to the client. The system may instruct the client to request the controller for access to the first application. The system may determine that the first shared computing resource is faulty based on the client being unable to access the first application at a time of application of the tag to the first shared computing resource. The system may take a corrective action with respect to the first shared computing resource.

  • Patent number: 11783307
Abstract: After loss of communications between a cash handling device and a financial institution, transactions may continue to be processed. In one configuration, the transactions may be processed up to a predefined transaction limit. Transaction limits may be defined by a number of transactions, a dollar amount transacted or to be transacted, an amount of time and/or combinations thereof. Additionally or alternatively, the transaction limit may be specific to one or more types of transactions. Transaction data may be stored in memory until communication has been re-established, at which time the data may be transmitted to the financial institution for processing.

  • Patent number: 11771238
Abstract: An illuminable display assembly including (a) a housing having a base securable to a support surface, a platform detachably mounted to the base, and a generally enclosed interior bounded from above by the platform. The platform includes a plurality of illuminable windows spaced apart from each other therealong. The display assembly further includes (b) a plurality of retractable tethers mounted to the platform in the interior of the housing. The tethers fasten corresponding display containers to the platform and urge the display containers to predetermined positions adjacent corresponding windows. The display assembly further includes (c) a lighting system including one or more interior light sources in the interior of the housing for illuminating the windows and display containers from below.

  • Patent number: 11778151
Abstract: A “Concurrent Projector-Camera” uses an image projection device in combination with one or more cameras to enable various techniques that provide visually flicker-free projection of images or video, while real-time image or video capture is occurring in that same space. The Concurrent Projector-Camera provides this projection in a manner that eliminates video feedback into the real-time image or video capture. More specifically, the Concurrent Projector-Camera dynamically synchronizes a combination of projector lighting (or light-control points) on-state temporal compression in combination with on-state temporal shifting during each image frame projection to open a “capture time slot” for image capture during which no image is being projected. This capture time slot represents a tradeoff between image capture time and decreased brightness of the projected image.
