  • Patent number: 8615313
Abstract: A sequence of events (SOE) recorder facility in a process control network environment is described herein. The SOE recorder facility is hosted by a networked node that receives digital signal status change (event) data from a networked controller. The sequence of events recorder facility receives a configured set of digital data signals from the controller, temporarily buffers the events in chronological order according to timestamps assigned to the events by their sources (e.g., fieldbus modules). The data is thereafter copied/removed from the buffer and provided to multiple destinations including: a process database that maintains an archival copy of the received event data for rendering event reports, and an SOE client user interface for rendering event logs to printers and/or graphical user interface displays.

  • Patent number: 8434747
Abstract: A suspension system for supporting fore- and aft extending frame members of a vehicle chassis on a hollow axle, the system on one side of the vehicle being duplicated on the opposite side. Included in the suspension on each side are: (1) a frame bracket for pivotally supporting the fore or leading end of an asymmetric leaf spring; (2) a spring end support mounted on the frame side member for supporting the aft or trailing end of the leaf spring, and (3) a suitable assembly for attaching the leaf spring at a location intermediate its opposite ends to the axle so that the spring is divided into two cantilever limbs extending in opposite directions from the center line of the axle. The spring is formed so that one of the cantilever limbs has a stiffness substantially greater than the stiffness of the other limb. In all forms, at least one leaf of the asymmetric spring extends the full length of the spring.

  • Publication number: 20130078921
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for controlling a contactless interface on a dual interface portable device are provided. The methods allow for contactless enablement and disablement on both a temporary and semi-permanent basis, dependent on commands sent to the device by an issuer of the portable device. The commands are received through a terminal device and are transferred to the portable device during a contact transaction. Configuration data on the portable device is modified according to the received commands. An application on the portable device controls the transmission of data through the contactless interface dependent on the configuration data.

  • Publication number: 20130060647
Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method for processing payment transactions that are conducted using a mobile device that includes a contactless element, such as an integrated circuit chip. The invention enables the updating, correction or synchronization of transaction data maintained by an Issuer with that stored on the device. This is accomplished by using a wireless (cellular) network as a data communication channel for data provided by an Issuer to the mobile device, and is particularly advantageous in circumstances in which the contactless element is not presently capable of communication with a device reader or point of sale terminal that uses a near field communications mechanism. Data transferred between the mobile device and Issuer may be encrypted and decrypted to provide additional security and protect the data from being accessed by other users or applications.

  • Publication number: 20130008262
Abstract: A method and a gas flow meter for measuring gas flow, having a cylinder, and a piston disposed movably within the cylinder, forming a clearance seal between the piston and the cylinder. A gas flow to be measured is directed to the cylinder so as to move the piston within the cylinder. From the detected movement of the piston, electrical signals representative of the gas flow are generated. Gas temperature and pressure data are also measured. A controller calculates a standardized flow rate of gas based on gas species information, and determines a compressibility factor based on the gas species information and the temperature and pressure data, and calculates a corrected flow rate. The compressibility factor is determined from a table pre-stored in a memory.
