  • Publication number: 20040173933
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a double-layer membrane of different polymers or polymer mixtures with opposite blood-compatible and tissue-compatible surfaces, a first polymer solution of a blood-compatible polymer and a second solution of a tissue-compatible polymer are extruded concurrently in layered form through a nozzle into a coagulation bath so as to form a double layer membrane.

  • Publication number: 20040082731
Abstract: In a polyimide molded body, in particular a polyimide membrane which is functionalized with a chemical group and a method for production thereof, a molded body or membrane is obtained, whereby a pre-prepared polyimide body, as starting material, is brought into contact with an aqueous modifier solution for a period of 1 second to 1 hour. The modifier solution contains at least one modifier substance at least partially dissolved therein, which comprises a primary or secondary amino group, or a similar amino group and additionally at least one further functional group per molecule. The polyimide molded body is brought to an elevated temperature, either during the contact period with the modifier solution or thereafter and then purified and dried. The membrane obtained according to the invention may be functionalized in a targeted adjustable manner and has a high functionalization degree. The functionalization may be achieved simply and economically in an aqueous medium.

  • Publication number: 20030209480
Abstract: In an apparatus for separating at least one component from a fluid mixture, comprising a plurality of hollow fiber membrane frames through which a carrier fluid is conducted while the fluid mixture flows through the frames in a direction normal to the hollow fiber membranes supported in the frame, a plurality of frames are stacked on top of one another and shaped so that, together, they form a sealed tubular structure for guiding the fluid mixture past the hollow fiber membranes extending across the frames.

  • Publication number: 20030164404
Abstract: A fuel injection valve with a valve member (10), which cooperates with a valve seat (16) to control injection openings (20). The valve member (10) is guided, in a portion remote from the combustion chamber, in a bore (7) and is surrounded by a pressure chamber (12), which can be filled with fuel at high pressure. The valve member (10) is urged by a spring (27) disposed in a spring chamber (25) and having a closing force in the direction of the valve seat (16), and in an appropriate opening pressure in the pressure chamber (12), as a result of the hydraulic pressure on a pressure shoulder (11), embodied on the valve member (10), the valve member lifts from the valve seat (10) and thus opens the injection openings; the injection of the fuel is effected separately in a main injection and a subsequent postinjection.

  • Patent number: 5523674
Abstract: The invention relates to a load selector for step switches in step transformers with two movable selector contacts. A suitable vacuum switch is located downstream of the first movable selector contact to switch the load current and a suitable switch for switching the compensation current is located downstream of the second movable selector contact. Both of the selector contacts are independently movable in such a way that one of the selector contacts moves slowly and the other selector contact rapidly moves or jumps between positions. The sequence of operation of the selector contacts is independent of the switching direction.

  • Patent number: 4481442
Abstract: To reduce the operating temperature of a U-shaped or multiple U-bent fluocent lamp, the respective longitudinal and transverse sectional elements of the U-shaped lamp are so related that the outer generating line M.sub.Q of the individual transverse tube sections (4; 20, 21, 22) is substantially straight;the diameter D.sub.LQ in the tube bends (5, 6; 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28) at the transition between the longitudinal tube sections (2, 3; 16, 17, 18, 19) and the respective transverse tube sections (4; 20, 21, 22) is larger than the diameter D.sub.Q of the individual transverse tube sections in the middle thereof, and the diameter D.sub.Q of the transverse tube section is at least as large as the diameter D.sub.L of the longitudinal tube sections;a depression or dent can be formed at the center of the outer surface of the transverse tube section, and the corners of the transverse tube section can include additional heat dissipating material to further reduce the operating temperature.

  • Patent number: 4217630
Abstract: A U-shaped flourescent lamp base assembly and finished lamp. The base assly comprises two contact-containing base caps which are interconnected by an elongated spacer member. Each cap has a pair of substantially parallel radially outwardly projecting members having extending means therebetween. The spacer member has respective ends slideably engagable between the said radially outwardly projecting members for positively engaging said extending means.

  • Patent number: 4177032
Abstract: A molding core, consisting of a plurality of flexible metal plates, for the manufacture of cylindrical hollow bodies or wound sections of fiber-reinforced synthetic resin. The metal plates are fixed to support members which in turn are connected to frames. To release the hollow bodies or wound sections, two diametrically opposed metal plates can be tilted inward and the frames can be moved toward one another by means of a common drive. It is possible to assemble a plurality of hollow bodies or wound sections to form vessels of large volume.

  • Patent number: 4143450
Abstract: In an apparatus for centering and joining cylindrical wound sections, which are not dimensionally stable, of fiber-reinforced plastics, a plurality of struts which join a central tube to a profile ring are provided. The apparatus further comprises, arranged as an extension of the struts, levers which are detachably fastened to the profile ring by means of swivel joints, and guide rails. By replacing these levers, rapid refitting to deal with larger or smaller diameters of wound sections is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4015742
Abstract: A anchorage of a lining to a pressure vessel in which T-shaped anchors are connected to the lining. The anchors extend along the longitudinal axes of the cylindrical sections with which the linings are associated. The anchors extend into cutouts in these sections, with clearance provided around the anchors. The spaces between the anchors and the cutout, and between the pressure vessel and the lining, are filled, e.g. with concrete or a mixture of cement with steel balls.
