  • Patent number: 7847203
Abstract: A system for indicating a position of an electrical distribution device configured to be racked into an electrically connected condition within an enclosure and racked out to an electrically disconnected condition via a racking mechanism is disclosed. The system includes a rotating indicator having at least a first position and a second position, the first position indicating the connected condition, and the second position indicating the disconnected condition, the indicator operably connected to the racking mechanism to rotate the indicator in response to movement of the racking mechanism between at least the connected condition and the disconnected condition. The system also includes a biasing device to bias rotation of the indicator toward the first position when the racking mechanism is in the connected condition and to bias rotation of the indicator toward the second position when the racking mechanism is in the disconnected condition.

  • Publication number: 20100262027
Abstract: A method, a system and an arrangement to predict at least one system event and a corresponding computer program and a corresponding machine-readable storage medium are configured so that the event is predictable because of trends in observables over a certain period before the occurrence of the events. The method, system and arrangement can be used in particular for patient-specific monitoring of patho-physiological changes but also in geophysical or abstract units such as population or economic systems in which the deviation from a defined normal condition is predicted.

  • Publication number: 20100262978
Abstract: A method, a system and an arrangement for predicting at least one system event and a corresponding computer program and a corresponding computer-readable storage medium are configured so that it is possible to predict a system event based on trends in observables over a certain period of time prior to the event occurring. One example of a system event is the failure of a system because the abnormal behavior of a component is reflected in irregularities in one or a plurality of observables. Another example of a system event is the early recognition or pre-acute prediction of a specific critical condition of a patient.

  • Publication number: 20100116214
Abstract: Drinkers for animals are usually configured as having a single elongate pipe string (24) in which a plurality of drinking valves are screwed in. The drinking valves (20) can operated by the animals themselves to cover their water needs. When no water is being removed by the animals at the drinking valves (20) the water in the pipe string (24) stands still. This has a negative impact on water quality, particularly in warmer climates, leading to a sharp increase of germs in the water, for example. This can result in diseases among the animals. The invention proposes the circulation of the water in the animal drinker. To this end, the animal drinker has two parallel pipe strings (23, 24) which form a water circuit ensuring a constant movement of water, namely that water flows continuously through the pipe strings (23, 24) even when no water has been removed at the drinking valves (20) over an extended period of time.

  • Patent number: 7441478
Abstract: A snap connection is provided between a push rod, e.g., of brakes, to an actuating element, e.g., a brake pedal. A fastening clip (2) is detachably fastened to the pedal. The push rod includes a spherical end (10) which can be held in an articulated manner by the fastening clip (2) for transmitting actuating forces. The interior of the fastening clip has two elastically deformable locking lips (4) acting as barbs, which fix the spherical end of the push rod (10) in the pedal (1) after the insertion of the push rod (10) into the fastening clip (2). The fastening clip (2) is preferably a plastic part with essentially closed sides, which are closed off on the pedal side by a front surface with an opening for the spherical end of the push rod. The opening has an insertion area (13) for inserting the spherical end of the push rod (10) and a removal area (14) for removing the push rod (9).

  • Publication number: 20080051669
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatuses for detecting sleep apnea by analyzing characteristic physiological oscillations of the heart rate variability (HRV). Starting from recorded ECG data of the patient, for example, as a long-term sequence of the changing RR intervals, the heart rate variability is examined using autocorrelation calculations for the occurrence of rhythmic oscillations of various frequencies. If oscillations typical for apnea occur having very long period durations in the range of 20 to 80 seconds, these are detected as a maximum of the autocorrelation function. If a pathological sleep apnea accordingly exists, individual apnea events may be identified by prompt analysis of short recorded RR sequences, e.g., in the minute interval.
