  • Patent number: 7552158
Abstract: The present invention relates to a digital filter capable of computing a tap without output delay due to the filter operation in a symbol time, and a digital broadcasting receiver having the same. Particularly, filter output is obtained within a clock period, one multiplier and one adder are used to perform coefficient update for a plurality of taps, and the multiplier performs the output operation for each tap, whereby the number of multipliers and adders is reduced inversely proportional to the number of taps being operated for one clock period. Thus, the digital filter of the present invention can be very advantageously used for resolving the filter size problem in multi-tap filters.

  • Publication number: 20090073952
Abstract: A method for retransmitting data when data transmission/reception has failed in a wireless LAN system using visible light communication. A mobile node searches a received frame for a fast feedback slot allocated for retransmission information when momentary data transmission/reception failure has occurred. One mini-slot from among the plurality of mini-slots is selected from the fast feedback slot. The mobile node transmits a fast feedback message, including information for retransmission, to an access point by using the selected mini-slot.

  • Patent number: 7466750
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for channel equalization and method thereof, by which a digital signal received via a plurality of antennas is equalized. The present invention includes receiving digital transmission signals using a plurality of antennas, respectively, initializing equalizer coefficients and equalizing the received signals respectively, adding the equalized signals together, predicting a noise amplified in the equalizing step, and generating a final output signal by removing the predicted noise from a value resulting from adding the equalized signals together. Therefore, the present invention performs equalization using a plurality of antennas, thereby enhancing the signal to noise ratio of the final output and facilitating the equalization of the severely distorted channel.

  • Patent number: 7408983
Abstract: Disclosed is a digital filter with a combined architecture of a 4-tap real valued filter and a-tap complex valued filter, whereby the filter size is reduced and no output delay is occurred due to the filter operations. According to the present invention, the digital filter is operated either in real valued filter mode or complex valued filter mode according to a mode selection signal, a filter output is obtained within one clock according to an operation selection signal, and an operator performs operations twice within one symbol clock (i.e., a time period) unlike a related art filter in which an operator performs the operation only once for each symbol clock. Therefore, the present invention filter is capable of resolving the filter size problem by substantially reducing the number of multipliers and adders.
