    Abstract: Certain aspects relate to systems and techniques for folded optic stereoscopic imaging, wherein a number of folded optic paths each direct a different one of a corresponding number of stereoscopic images toward a portion of a single image sensor. Each folded optic path can include a set of optics including a first light folding surface positioned to receive light propagating from a scene along a first optical axis and redirect the light along a second optical axis, a second light folding surface positioned to redirect the light from the second optical axis to a third optical axis, and lens elements positioned along at least the first and second optical axes and including a first subset having telescopic optical characteristics and a second subset lengthening the optical path length. The sensor can be a three-dimensionally stacked backside illuminated sensor wafer and reconfigurable instruction cell array processing wafer that performs depth processing.

    Abstract: A cardiac troponin I ultra-sensitive detection reagent kit, a preparation method, and a detection method. The reagent kit comprises at least one first anti-cardiac troponin I antibody marked with a trace marker and at least one second anti-cardiac troponin I antibody coated on magnetic microspheres, the first anti-cardiac troponin I antibody and cardiac troponin I binding site being different from the second anti-cardiac troponin I antibody and cardiac troponin I binding site. The reagent kit may further comprise a diluent capable of significantly reducing non-specific binding in a detection process, so as to further increase the detection accuracy and sensitivity. The method using the reagent kit to detect cardiac troponin I sensitively and accurately detects the amount of cardiac troponin I in a sample, and provides more timely and reliable information for the early diagnosis and treatment of AMI.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for light-guiding layers including light-turning features with multiple reflective surfaces oriented at different angles to the light-guiding layer. The use of multiple reflective surfaces oriented at different angles can improve the efficiency and appearance of a frontlight system using such a light-guiding layer.

    Abstract: A method to increase ethanol production from a corn dry-mill process is described that comprises adding an enzyme preparation derived from Trichoderma reesei having cellulolytic activity to a saccharification process that includes conventional alpha amylase and glucoamylase. The addition of the cellulolytic enzyme decreases viscosity of the saccharified mash and can increase ethanol yield from a dry grind fermentation by as much as 10% or more. Specific characteristics are provided to show surprising and advantageous results of one particular preparation of cellulolytic enzymes from T. reesei.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of treating an edible fiber source to make an animal feed with increased digestible energy. An exemplary method includes hydrolyzing the edible fiber source with an inorganic fiber hydrolyzing agent in a twin screw mixer that shears the edible fiber to a size of between 0.5 to 25 mm. The hydrolysis in the mixer occurs at pressure of about 14 psig or higher with a temperature about 100° C. to 110° C. The inorganic hydrolysis liberates a first portion of soluble carbohydrates from the edible fiber source. The inorganically hydrolyzed material is also treated (before or after) with a fiber degrading enzyme to solubilize a second portion of carbohydrates. The dually hydrolyzed material is dried to form an animal feed or feed ingredient having a soluble and insoluble carbohydrate fraction with the amount of soluble carbohydrate being at least 45% wt/wt of the total carbohydrates obtained from the edible fiber source.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for illumination, such as for illuminating displays, including reflective displays. An illumination device may include a light-extracting, diffusive holographic medium. The holographic medium may be a holographic film and may be disposed on the surface of a light guide, and includes a hologram that both extracts light out of the light guide and diffuses this extracted light for propagation towards the display elements of the display. The hologram can extract light by redirecting light, which is propagating within the light guide, so that the light propagates out of the light. The diffusion occurs upon the light being redirected, as the hologram redirects the light towards the light guide in a controlled range of angles.
