  • Publication number: 20160231233
Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of sensor devices comprising a sensing component able to determine the presence of, detect, and/or quantify detectable species in a variety of environments and applications. The sensing components disclosed herein can comprise MOF materials, plasmonic nanomaterials, or combinations thereof. In an exemplary embodiment, light guides can be coupled with the sensing components described herein to provide sensor devices capable of increased NIR detection sensitivity in determining the presence of detectable species, such as gases and volatile organic compounds. In another exemplary embodiment, optical properties of the plasmonic nanomaterials combined with MOF materials can be monitored directly to detect analyte species through their impact on external conditions surrounding the particle or as a result of charge transfer to and from the plasmonic material as a result of interactions with the plasmonic material and/or the MOF material.

  • Publication number: 20160154538
Abstract: As part of a technique for positioning viewports over interactive digital maps, a digital map of a geographic area is provided via a user interface of a computing device. The currently visible portion of the digital map is displayed in a viewport. A user gesture is detected, where the user gesture communicates a particular acceleration to the viewport, along a particular direction, to move the viewport from its current position to a target position over the digital map. A current user context for the digital map is determined. A new position of the viewport over the digital map is determined in accordance with (i) the user gesture and (ii) the current user context, such that the new position is different from the target position, and the viewport is moved from its current position to the new position.

  • Publication number: 20160098998
Abstract: Systems and methods for voice searching media content based on metadata or subtitles are provided. Metadata associated with media content can be pre-processed at a media server. Upon receiving a vocal command representative of a search for an aspect of the media content, the media server performs a search for one or more portions of the media content relevant to the aspect of the media content being searched for. The media performs the search by matching the aspect of the media content being searched for with the pre-processed metadata.

  • Publication number: 20160054397
Abstract: Correlated double sampling (CDS) for magnetoresistive (MR) sensors is provided. Here the MR sensor output is sampled at two closely spaced times. The first sample is MR signal+baseline+noise and is sampled when the modulated magnetic field is non-zero. The second sample is baseline+noise only because it is sampled when the modulated magnetic field is zero. The difference between the first and second samples will have significantly reduced low frequency noise and baseline cancellation. Modulation of the electrical bias provided to the MR sensor can be used to provide a baseline signal for temperature compensation. In a second aspect, we provide MR sensor arrays having input and output multiplexing and demultiplexing for row and column line selection, in combination with a per-sensor switch to prevent noise accumulation and bandwidth reduction from idle MR sensors.
