Abstract: A contactless card includes an arrangement of a plurality of tactile sensors along the edge, an arrangement of a plurality of tactile sensors on the surface or surfaces, an arrangement of a plurality tactile of sensors along the edge and on the surface or surfaces. The arrangement of a plurality of tactile sensors captures the interaction of the user's hand and the contactless card to generate a unique binary string. In addition to the validation of the identifying information embedded within the memory of any existing contactless credit card, debit cards, prepaid electronic cash card, loyalty card and access card, the user's identification is also validated through the binary string. An irreversible mathematical equation can be used to compute the identifying information and binary string to generate the validation Radio Frequency Identification signal.

  • Publication number: 20230390220
Abstract: Monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) is an enzyme best known for its function in the brain, where it breaks down neurotransmitters and thereby influences mood and behavior. While small molecule MAO inhibitors (MAOIs) have been developed used for treating depression and other neurological disorder, the involvement of MAO-A in antitumor immunity has not been known. The disclosure provided herein identifies MAO-A as an immune checkpoint and the use of MAOI antidepressants for cancer immunotherapy. Here we report induction of the Maoa gene in tumor-infiltrating immune cells. MAOI treatment significantly suppressed tumor growth in preclinical mouse syngeneic and human xenograft tumor models in a T cell-dependent manner. Combining MAOI and anti-PD-1 treatments generated synergistic tumor suppression effects. Clinical data correlation studies associated intratumoral MAOA expression with T cell dysfunction and impaired patient survival in a broad range of cancers.

  • Publication number: 20230391871
Abstract: We have discovered MAO-A induction in mouse and human TAMs. Moreover, we determined that MAO-A-deficient mice exhibited decreased TAM immunosuppressive functions corresponding with enhanced antitumour immunity. Building upon these discoveries, we then determined that MAOI treatment induced TAM reprogramming and suppressed tumour growth in preclinical mouse syngeneic and human xenograft tumour models. Surprisingly, combining MAOI and anti-PD-1 treatments resulted in synergistic tumour suppression. Together, these data identify MAO-A as a critical regulator of TAMs, and that show that repurposing MAOIs for TAM reprogramming can be used to improve cancer immunotherapies.
