    Abstract: Generally, the present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of quantizing a database with respect to a novel loss or quantization error function which applies a weight to an error measurement of quantized elements respectively corresponding to the datapoints in the database. The weight is determined based on the magnitude of an inner product between the respective datapoints and a query compared therewith. In contrast to previous work, embodiments of the proposed loss function are responsive to the expected magnitude of an inner product between the respective datapoints and a query compared therewith and can prioritize error reduction for higher-ranked pairings of the query and the datapoints. Thus, the systems and methods of the present disclosure provide solutions to some of the problems with traditional quantization approaches, which regard all error as equally impactful.

The wellbore system also includes a distributed acoustic sensing unit that includes a seismic processing unit and a seismic profiling unit connected to a separate optical cable of the retrievable logging cable having distributed acoustic sensing channels, wherein an assignment of the distributed acoustic sensing channels along the separate optical cable is determined by an offset distance between the current depth of a formation reference region within the wellbore and a previous reference depth of the formation reference region within the wellbore. A distributed acoustic sensing method is also included.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods for measuring the oil to water ratio of a wellbore fluid. An example method includes flowing the wellbore fluid into a flow path of a fluid identification device disposed on the outside of a wellbore tubing and within a wellbore annulus. The fluid identification device comprises a shroud, the flow path disposed within the shroud that opens to the wellbore annulus and fluidically links the wellbore annulus to the wellbore tubing thereby allowing fluid flow through the flow path from the wellbore annulus to the wellbore tubing, and an alternating current electrical sensor disposed within the flow path. The method further includes measuring a property of the wellbore fluid with the alternating current electrical sensor when the wellbore fluid has flowed into the flow path and determining the oil to water ratio of the wellbore fluid that flowed through the flow path.
