  • Patent number: 11651383
Abstract: An improved analytics system generates actionable KPI-based customer segments. The analytics system determines predicted outcomes for a key performance indicator (KPI) of interest and a contribution value for each variable indicating an extent to which each variable contributes to predicted outcomes. Topics are generated by applying a topic model to the contribution values for the variables. Each topic comprises a group of variables with a contribution level for each variable that indicates the importance of each variable to the topic. User segments are generated by assigning each user to a topic based on attribution levels output by the topic model.

  • Publication number: 20230137007
Abstract: In a data storage method, a storage system comprises first and second medium layers for data storage, wherein the performance of the first medium layer is different from the performance of the second medium layer. Based on the performance difference between the two layers, the storage system stores data in the first medium layer and the second medium layer based on different erasure code ratios. The different erasure code ratios correspond to different write amplification, and result in different storage space utilization.

  • Publication number: 20230084254
Abstract: Multicomponent data are acquired using a downhole acoustic tool having transmitters and receiver stations distributed azimuthally in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the tool. The receiver stations are located at several receiving stations along the axis of the tool. At each acquisition depth, waveforms are processed through a multi-dimensional fast Fourier transform, extrapolation and inverse multi-dimensional fast Fourier transform. At each receiver station, waveforms are combined to produce the standard monopole waveforms and the inline and crossline dipole waveforms along fixed azimuths. These oriented waveforms produce a finer azimuthal sampling of the surrounding formation, and can then be used for imaging geological features within the surrounding formation.

  • Publication number: 20230034287
Abstract: Traditionally, learning speech synthesis and speech recognition were investigated as two separate tasks. This separation hinders incremental development for concurrent synthesis and recognition, where partially-learned synthesis and partially-learned recognition must help each other throughout lifelong learning. This invention is a paradigm shift—we treat synthesis and recognition as two intertwined aspects of a lifelong learning robot. Furthermore, in contrast to existing recognition or synthesis systems, babies do not need their mothers to directly supervise their vocal tracts at every moment during the learning. We argue that self-generated non-symbolic states/actions at fine-grained time level help such a learner as necessary temporal contexts. Here, we approach a new and challenging problem—how to enable an autonomous learning system to develop an artificial motor for generating temporally-dense (e.g., frame-wise) actions on the fly without human handcrafting a set of symbolic states.

  • Patent number: 11566510
Abstract: A sensor system may be used to measure characteristics of an object in a wellbore. The sensor system may include an ultrasonic transducer that generates an ultrasonic wave in a medium of the wellbore and detects a reflection signal of the ultrasonic wave off the object in the wellbore. The sensor system may also include a processing device and a memory device in which instructions are stored. The memory may include instructions that cause the processing device to receive the reflection signal from the ultrasonic transducer, and to truncate and preprocess the reflection signal to generate a truncated reflection signal. The instructions may also cause the processing device to apply time gain compensation to the truncated reflection signal and determine an echo wavelet from the time gain compensated signal representing an echo of the ultrasonic wave off of a wall of the wellbore.

  • Publication number: 20230020858
Abstract: An active fiber stretcher assembly can be used for data acquisition systems. A time-break signal can be detected that coincides with a seismic event emitted from a seismic controller. A predetermined waveform can be generated in response to detecting the time-break signal. The predetermined waveform may be encoded onto a fiber optic cable using a fiber stretcher. A data acquisition system connected to the fiber optic cable may detect the predetermined waveform on the fiber optic cable and initiate acquisition operations including: receiving, during the seismic event, light signals returning from a portion of the fiber optic cable in a subterranean environment; determining one or more characteristics of the subterranean environment from the light signals; and storing the one or more characteristics.
