Abstract: A group of compounds defined by the general formula (I) can be used to anionically initiate polymerization of unsaturated monomers. In the formula, M is an alkali metal atom, R1 is an aryl group having at least one OR2 substituent group where each R2 is a group that is nonreactive toward M, and R is a hydrocarbyl group. The subject initiators can be used in semi-batch and continuous polymerization processes, even those which are performed at elevated temperatures.

Abstract: A dual mode mobile terminal system includes an antenna, a diplexer, a first communication module, a first power amplifier, and a second communication module. The diplexer receives and transmits a first wireless signal, and isolates the receiving path and the transmitting path of the first wireless signal. The second communication module receives a second wireless signal from the switch. The first power amplifier amplifies the second wireless signal. The antenna is selectably connected to the diplexer or the first power amplifier through the switch. The antenna, the switch, the diplexer, and the first communication module form a first signal transmission path to transmit and receive the first wireless signal; the antenna, the switch, the first power amplifier, and the second communication module form a second signal transmission path to transmit and receive the second wireless signal.

Abstract: Vulcanizates with desirable properties can be obtained from compounds incorporating polymers that include hydroxyl group-containing diphenylethylene-type functionalities. The functionalities can be incorporated by using any or all of appropriate initiators, monomers and optional terminating compounds. Such polymers exhibit excellent interactivity with both conventional and non-conventional fillers.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a body fluid analyzing system, comprising: a central control and processing component for sending a control signal to the source image capturing component; a source image capturing component for capturing a body fluid source image according to said control signal and sending said source image to said central control and processing component. Said central control and processing component is further used for transforming source images to image coefficients and generating the corresponding coefficient matrix. Then the coefficient matrix is inversely transformed to a focus-fused image for output. The present invention further discloses an image processing device and method for analyzing body fluid. The application of the present invention can reduce the probability of object image omission or fuzziness and, to a great extent, increase the identification success rate so that the precision of the entire system is increased.

Abstract: Optimised bit allocation is important in video compression to increase the coding efficiency, i.e. to make optimum use of the available data rate. In view of the human visual system, a human usually pays more attention to some part of a picture rather than to other parts of that picture. Therefore the bit allocation should be optimised for different-attention picture areas (GOBi). The inventive distortion-driven bit allocation scheme allocates the coding/decoding error distortion to picture areas consistently with the human visual system, and satisfies the constraint of bit rate as well. The invention uses a distortion/bitrate/rhoquantization parameter histogram analysis. Based on corresponding tables (DGOBi[QPn], RGOBi[QPn] and ?GOBi[QPn]), the relationships between quantization parameter, rate, distortion and percentage of non-zero coefficients for the different-attention areas are determined (PREALUTI, DISALL, RALL).

Abstract: The frame following a scene cut is usually coded as an I picture. In CBR encoding, the encoder will try to keep the bit rate constant, which will often cause serious picture quality degradation at scene changes. In VBR encoding, more bits will be allocated to the first frame of the new scene and the bit rate will increase significantly for a short time. Therefore subsequent frames must be coded in ‘skipped’ mode, which will often cause jerk artifacts. According to the invention, in each frame belonging to a scene change period, areas are determined that have different human attention levels. In the frames (n?1, n?2, n?3) located prior to the first new scene frame, to the areas having a lower attention level less bits are assigned than in the default encoding, and in the frames (n, n+1, n+2) located at and after the scene cut the thus saved bits are additionally assigned to the areas having a higher attention level.
