    Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for determining column ordering of a data storage table for search optimization are described herein. In some examples, a computing system is configured to receive input containing statistics of a plurality of queries. The computing system can then determine a new column order (i.e., layout) based at least in part on the statistics. In some example techniques described herein, the computing system can determine the new column order based at least in part on the hardware components storing the data storage table, storage system parameters, and/or user preference information. Example techniques described herein can apply the new column order to data subsequently added to the data storage table.     Abstract: Various aspects involve a lagged prediction model trained for risk assessment or other purposes. For instance, a risk assessment computing system receives a risk assessment query for a target entity and provides an input predictor record for the target entity to a lagged prediction model. The input predictor record includes a first group of lagged values from a first time-series attribute associated with the target entity. The lagged prediction model is trained by implementing a group feature selection technique configured to select the first time-series attribute as input and to deselect a second time-series attribute associated with the target entity. The risk assessment computing system computes an output risk indicator from the input predictor record and transmits the output risk indicator to a remote computing system. The output risk indicator can be used to control access by the target entity to one or more interactive computing environments.

    Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for detecting microbial pathogens in a sample suspected of containing the pathogens. The method includes combining loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) reagents and a polymer gel, such as a hydrogel, together with the sample to form a mixture. The gel polymerizes over a short time to immobilize the viral particles within the mixture. If target DNA/RNA are present in the sample, amplicons are produced. The target microorganisms are detected by visually detecting the presence or absence of the amplicons. The target microorganism concentrations may be determined based on the number of fluorescent amplicon dots after the reaction using a smartphone or a fluorescent microscope. The method may be employed for rapidly and inexpensively quantifying microbial pathogens in environmental water samples with high sensitivity.

    Abstract: A phase retrieval detection device based on diffraction information fusion of a Fresnel zone plate (FZP) (7) is provided, including a laser (1), an attenuation mirror (2), a micro-objective (3), a pinhole filter (4), a collimating objective (5), an element (6) to be detected, an FZP (7), and an image acquisition device (8) that are sequentially arranged along a light path. The phase retrieval detection device uses the FZP (7) as a light beam convergent element instead of a conventional lens, and makes an acquired diffraction spot contain more diffraction information by virtue of a multi-focus characteristic of the FZP (7). Based on a classical iterative phase retrieval method, a phase retrieval method based on the diffraction information fusion of the FZP (7) uses a diffraction light intensity distribution modulated by the FZP for retrieval to reconstruct a wider band of a wavefront to be detected.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a device for detecting a wavefront error by modal-based optimization phase retrieval using an extended Nijboer-Zernike (ENZ) theory. The detection device includes a point light source (1), a half mirror (2), a lens (3) to be tested, a plane mirror (4) and an image sensor (5). The wavefront error of the component under test is characterized by using a Zernike polynomial, and a Zernike polynomial coefficient is solved based on an ENZ diffraction theory. The present disclosure realizes the one-time full-aperture measurement on the wavefront error of a large-aperture optical component, and can use a partially overexposed image to achieve accurate wavefront error retrieval. Meanwhile, the present disclosure overcomes the contradiction between underexposure and high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) caused by a limited dynamic range when the image sensor (5) acquires an image. The detection device is simple and does not have high requirements for the experimental environment.
