Abstract: The current invention discloses methods and devices for adding a new member to a group, e.g. a chat group associated with a chat program. The new member may be added through a barcode-scanning process or an existing-member-invitation process. After the new member is added to the chat group, a server may send notification messages to mobile devices associated with the existing members of the group. The contents of the notification messages may vary based on the processes by which the new member is added, the number of existing members, and the direct-contact relationships the new member has with the existing members. The current invention provides simplified methods and devices for adding the new member, avoiding cumbersome operations and protecting member privacy at the same time.

Abstract: A third-party application client performs authorization authentication with a user client and a platform server. The third party application obtains an access token and an open ID. The third-party application client interacts with the platform server for information related to the user ID by using the token, calls the user client or is called by the user client according to the open ID. The third-party application client may interact with the platform server for the information related to the user ID by using the token, so that other resources or information of the user accumulated for the platform server can be used by the third-party application client continuously.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a multi-stage echo cancelation scheme. The disclosed embodiments include an apparatus and method for monitoring and canceling echoes greater than 25 dB in a coaxial cable plant. The method includes obtaining echo channel estimate coefficients from a cable node. The method determines a location and strength of each partial echo in an impulse response using the echo channel estimate coefficients. Optionally, the method determines a frequency response of each partial echo in the impulse response.

Abstract: A method of searching content is provided. The method includes receiving, in a social media messaging program, a search request including one or more search terms from a user of a client device. The method further includes searching, among the user's contacts locally stored on the client device, for contacts matching with the one or more search terms to produce first search results displaying a least a subset of the first search results and one or more search navigation affordances. At least one of the search navigation affordances corresponds to second search results of a first content type that are shared by the user and other users and at least one of the search navigation affordances corresponds to third search results of a second content type different from the first content type that are associated with the user.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a parameter obtaining method and apparatus. In this method, multiple signals are received over a communications link on a network, where each of the received signals is corresponding to a point on a complex plane; decision is performed on each of the received signals; for each of the received signals, an error signal between the received signal and a corresponding decision signal is determined; and a complex-plane distribution feature parameter used to indicate a distribution feature, on the complex plane, of the signals received over the communications link is determined according to all the determined error signals. In this method, an inaccurate maintenance result in manual analysis of a constellation diagram is avoided.

Abstract: Provided are a method and an apparatus for canceling interference, to resolve a problem that performance of interference cancellation is poor because accuracy of equalizer coefficients obtained by a CMTS through calculation is not sufficiently high. A specific solution is as follows: (101) A CMTS calculates L equalizer coefficients of an L-tap filter according to a preamble sequence by using an adaptive algorithm, and performs adaptive equalization on a received signal by using the L equalizer coefficients, where L is a positive integer greater than 24; and (102) the CMTS selects K equalizer coefficients from the L equalizer coefficients, and sends a ranging response message carrying the K equalizer coefficients to a cable modem CM, so that the CM performs pre-equalization on a to-be-sent signal according to the received K equalizer coefficients, where K is a positive integer less than or equal to L.

Abstract: Mail processing methods and a server are described. The server receives a mail reply request sent from a client, determines whether a new contact and an original attachment are present in the mail reply request, and if it determines that the new contact and the original attachment are present in the mail reply request, generates a data packet based on a predetermined rule for non-regular mails, and transmits the data packet to a destination.

Abstract: A system for cable network communications is provided, comprising a cable modem termination system (CMTS), a trunk cable coupled to the CMTS, cable modems (CMs) divided into at least a low frequency CM group and a high frequency CM group positioned between the CMTS and the low frequency CM group, one or more second taps attached to the trunk cable, with corresponding second drop cables coupled to one or more corresponding CMs of the low frequency CM group, and a first duplexer tap attached to the trunk cable between the CMTS and the one or more second taps, with a corresponding first drop cable coupled to a CM of the high frequency CM group. The first duplexer tap receives an input signal and provides a low frequency signal to the low frequency CM group and a high frequency signal to the high frequency CM group.

Abstract: A method, server, user terminal, and system are disclosed for sending notification messages in the Internet communication filed. In the method: when detecting it needs to send a message to a target terminal, an application server detects a state of the signaling channel. When the signaling channel is in connected state, the application server sends a notification message to the target terminal through this signaling channel. When the signaling channel is in a disconnected state, the application server generates a notification request to a corresponding account of the target terminal and sends the notification request to the notification server so that the notification server pushes a notification message to the target terminal according to the notification request.

Abstract: A failure analysis method and device, where the method includes obtaining a frequency domain response amplitude of a channel from a hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) network, performing linear fitting on an effective portion of the frequency domain response amplitude to determine a channel slope value, and performing channel failure analysis according to the channel slope value. Failure analysis is performed according to the obtained channel slope value, and the channel slope value is a new failure analysis parameter. In this way, means of channel failure analysis increase, and channel failure analysis is more accurate.
