    Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide various examples of a face-image training data preparation system for performing large-scale face-image training data acquisition, preprocessing, cleaning, balancing, and post-processing. The disclosed training data preparation system can collect a very large set of loosely-labeled images of different people from the public domain, and then generate a raw training dataset including a set of incorrectly-labeled face images. The disclosed training data preparation system can then perform cleaning and balancing operations on the raw training dataset to generate a high-quality face-image training dataset free of the incorrectly-labeled face images. The processed high-quality face-image training dataset can be subsequently used to train deep-neural-network-based face recognition systems to achieve high performance in various face recognition applications.

    Abstract: Compositions of the present disclosure include a first dCas9-FokI-sgRNA complex and a second dCas9-FokI-sgRNA complex. The first sgRNA is configured to target a first side of a genomic fusion site and the second sgRNA is configured to target a second side of the genomic fusion site. The first and second complexes only cut DNA upon dimerization. Thus, upon binding of both first dCas9-FokI-sgRNA complex and second dCas9-FokI-sgRNA complex, the dimer is produced and DNA cleavage proceeds at the genomic fusion site. The dCas9-FokI-sgRNA complexes are loaded on a folded-DNA shell for transport across the cellular membrane. The shell has a viral-mimic structure that maximizes cell entry, is non-cytotoxic, has low-to-nonimmunogenicity, and provides excellent capacity to enclose and protect the complexes. These systems exhibit both cellular (via the shell) and molecular (via the complexes) specificity, significantly reducing off-target activity and the associated harmful side-effects.

    Abstract: Various examples are disclosed for forecasting resource usage and computing capacity utilizing an exponential decay. In some examples, a computing environment can obtain usage measurements from a data stream over a time interval, where the usage measurements describe utilization of computing resource. The computing environment can generate a weight function for individual ones of the usage measurements, where the weight function exponentially decays the usage measurements based on a respective time period at which the usage measurements were obtained. The computing environment can forecast a future capacity of the computing resources based on the usage measurements and the weight function assigned to the individual ones of the usage measurements. The computing environment can further upgrade a forecast engine to use the exponential decay without resetting the forecast engine or its memory.

Next, the process trains an image-detection statistical model using the training image dataset including the first subset of converted grayscale images. The process next receives a set of grayscale input images. The process subsequently performs image detections on the set of grayscale input images using the trained image-detection statistical model.
