    Abstract: Embodiment methods generate a second set of most probable modes (MPMs) from a plurality of intra prediction modes excluding a first set of MPMs for intra prediction or reconstruction of a luma block. An embodiment method constructs a reference block of the luma block, selects a number of samples in the reference block that have been predicted or reconstructed but not in the luma block, and performs intra prediction (or reconstruction) of the selected samples using each of some or all of the plurality of intra prediction modes excluding the first set of MPMs, thereby generating predicted samples (or reconstructed samples) for the selected samples. Based on the predicted samples (or reconstructed samples) and the selected samples, the second set MPM is selected.

The processor is also configured to determine a contribution to a first user within the community by at least one second user of the plurality of other users within the community, and calculate an influence score for the first user. The broached groove is an arc surface with three sections of different radiuses, which solves stress concentration and sticking of a single-groove and short-tail rivet during riveting, and allows a claw of a riveting machine to be engaged to the best position automatically. The tooth profile of a locking groove section of the rivet is a curve combining an arc and a straight line, which greatly improves fastening force.

A gate dielectric is formed overlying the base well, and a floating gate is formed overlying the gate dielectric.     Abstract: System and method embodiments are provided for achieving improved View Synthesis Distortion (VSD) calculation and more accurate distortion estimation of encoded video frames. An embodiment method includes obtaining a depth map value for a video frame and determining a weighting factor for depth distortion in accordance with the depth map value. The weighting factor maps a pixel range of the depth map value to an output function having higher values for closer image objects and lower values for farther image objects. The VSD for the video frame is then calculated as a function of absolute horizontal texture gradients weighted by a depth distortion value and the weighting factor determined in accordance with the depth map value.

    Abstract: System and method embodiments for image coding are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method in a data processing system for image encoding includes determining a sparsity constraint according to a dimension of an input image signal. The method also includes iteratively determining a plurality of approximations to the input image signal. Each iteration provides an approximation of the input image signal. Each approximation includes a set of dictionary element indices and coefficients. The dictionary is an over-complete dictionary. Iterations of the determining step are terminated when a number of iterations is equal to the sparsity constraint. The method also includes selecting one of the plurality of approximations according to a minimum rate-distortion cost. The method also includes determining an encoded image signal according to non-zero coefficients and corresponding indices for each non-zero coefficient in the selected approximation.

    Abstract: A canopy clustering process merges at least one set of multiple single-center canopies together into a merged multi-center canopy. Multi-center canopies, as well as the single-center canopies, can then be used to partition data objects in a dataset. The multi-center canopies allow a canopy assignment condition constraint to be relaxed without risk of leaving any data objects in a dataset outside of all canopies. Approximate distance calculations can be used as similarity metrics to define and merge canopies and to assign data objects to canopies. In one implementation, a distance between a data object and a canopy is represented as the minimum of the distances between the data object and each center of a canopy (whether merged or unmerged), and the distance between two canopies is represented as the minimum of the distances for each pairing of the center(s) in one canopy and the center(s) in the other canopy.
