  • Patent number: 11137804
Abstract: An activity monitoring circuit enables power conservation for an activity monitoring system. The activity monitoring system includes a sensor device that generates activity data based on detected movement. An activity monitoring circuit receives the activity data as input from the sensor device, and processes the activity data. Based on the processing, the activity monitoring circuit signals the sensor device to change a duty cycle of its operation, by adjusting how long it is on and off. The activity monitoring circuit can include a sensor hub that determines an activity state indicated by the activity data and generates a prediction of stability of the determined activity state based on historical activity data. Based on activity state and stability, the sensor hub can determine a duty cycle for operation of the sensor device.

  • Publication number: 20210117949
Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure include technologies for detecting irregular scans, specifically when a retail system fails to collect the genuine information of a product. The disclosed retail system retrieves images covering a specific region, e.g., the designated scanning area. Further the disclosed retail system uses neural networks to detect the product from such images and track a moving path of the product over the specific region. Irregular scans may be detected when the tracked product in the images does not match what is collected by the scanner of the retail system.

  • Publication number: 20200393325
Abstract: A leakage location in a viscoelastic pipe is estimated by generating a transient wave at a downstream node of the pipe. Liquid pressures at plural locations along the pipe are measured. Measured signals are transformed to frequency response functions (FRFs). The FRF from a sensor closest to the upstream node is used to estimate a FRF of transient discharge at the upstream node. A frequency-dependent wave speed of the transient wave is computed according to geometrical dimensions and viscoelastic coefficients of the pipe via the generalized Kelvin-Voigt model. FRFs of liquid pressures at the locations under a hypothetical no-leakage condition are computed according to the FRF of transient discharge and the frequency-dependent wave speed. By using the matched-field processing (MFP) method, which maximizes the signal-to-noise ratio in detection, the leakage location is estimated from the FRFs of liquid pressures.
