    Abstract: A magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) that avoids electrical shorts and has improved data retention is disclosed. An uppermost capping layer has a first sidewall that is coplanar with an interface between outer oxidized portions and a center ferromagnetic portion of a free layer (FL) that has a FL width (FLW). A dielectric spacer is formed on the first sidewall and oxidized outer FL portions. The pinned layer (PL) has a width (PLW) substantially greater than FLW, and a second sidewall thereon is formed by a self-aligned etch using the dielectric spacer and capping layer as an etch mask. A sidewall layer may be formed on the second sidewall and dielectric spacer but does not degrade MTJ properties since the sidewall layer does not contact the FL and PL center portions responsible for device performance. PL width>FLW ensures greater capability for data retention especially for FLW<60 nm.

Solutions provided in embodiments of the present invention can reduce the backhaul bandwidth occupancy.

The outer shaft is slidable over the inner shaft and scaffold such that the scaffold is in a non-expanded state when the outer shaft is around the scaffold. The outer shaft has a state where the distal end of the outer shaft remains near the target area without the inner shaft and the scaffold being within the outer shaft. The inner shaft and the scaffold are removable through the proximal end of the outer shaft while the distal end of the outer shaft remains near the target area.

The radical scavenging material may comprise 0.1 wt % to 30 wt % of the middle layer. The middle layer may be deposited using PVD, and the radical scavenging material may be doped into the middle layer, for example, by co-sputtering it with the bulk material of the middle layer.

The video data derived from the reconstructed BL video data is up-sampled before applying inter-layer adaptive filtering. The up-sampling may also be included in the inter-layer adaptive filtering. In another embodiment, the inter-layer adaptive filtering comprises adaptive up-sampling. For up-sampled BL video data at locations not collocated with the EL video data, the up-sampled BL video data is divided into location types according to locations of the up-sampled BL video data. Each location type may have an individual filter for up-sampling video data in the group.
