    Abstract: Display devices for displaying a first and second view are provided. A representative display device includes a color generating layer (CF) and an array layer (AR). The color generating layer incorporates a plurality of color elements arranged in a two-dimensional array extending in a plurality of rows in a horizontal direction (X) and a plurality of columns in a vertical direction (Y). The array layer includes array metal circuitry covering a portion of each of the color elements. The color generating layer includes means for preventing light generated for one of the first and second views from being transmitted by reflection by at least a portion of a surface of the array metal circuitry in a direction of the other of the first and second views.

A user can lock the movable member of the elliptical exercise machine after each exercise. When the user uses the elliptical exercise machine again and steps on the pedals of the elliptical exercise machine before starting to exercise, the user will not accidentally fall from the elliptical exercise machine due to an unexpected displacement of the center of gravity.

A virtual tutor is synthesized by applying the first action-feature to the intrinsic model such that the virtual tutor exhibits the intrinsic characteristics of the second target but performs a synthesized action-feature similar to the first action-feature. The method then assesses the difference between the synthesized action-feature and the second action-feature.

Spatio-temporal information for a foreground/background appearance module is updated, based on a new input image and the accumulated previous appearance information and foreground/background information module labeling information over time. Object detection is performed according to the new input image and the updated spatio-temporal information and transmitted previous information over time, based on the labeling result generated by the object detection. The information for the foreground/background appearance module is repeatedly updated until a convergent condition is reached. The produced labeling result from objection detection is considered as a new tracking measurement for further updating on a tracking prediction module. A final tracking result may be obtained through the updated tracking prediction module, which is determined by the current tracking measurement and the previous observed tracking results.

A stable key generation unit receives the transformed feature signals to produce a cryptographic key based on bit information respectively provided by the M-dimensional feature signals, wherein the length of the bit information provided by the feature signal of each dimension is proportional to the degree of distinguishability in the dimension.

    Abstract: A backup power supply system supplies power from a first ac power source in normal condition. Once the first ac power source is abnormal or fails, the system automatically turns off the first ac power source and turns on a second ac power source with null transfer time. When the first ac power source is normal, a dc/ac power inverter is controlled to supply an approximately null current such that a mechanical switch is allowed to be closed and no circulating current is generated between the first ac power source and the dc/ac power inverter. Since the mechanical switch is continuously closed, and requires no switching operation, the backup power supply system can supply the backup power with a null transfer time.
