  • Patent number: 10599509
Abstract: This management system for a computer system including a plurality of elements for which performance values are to be monitored generates one or more plans on the basis of: a performance value history of a specific bottleneck (an element that has been identified as the cause of a detected failure); management information that includes information indicating, for each countermeasure, the relation between a plurality of countermeasure attributes and a plurality of bottlenecks; and a countermeasure attribute corresponding to the specific bottleneck, and displays the one or more plans thus generated. Each of the displayed one or more plans includes one or more countermeasures. In each of the displayed one or more plans, each of the one or more countermeasures is classified into one of a plurality of countermeasure types.

  • Patent number: 7593979
Abstract: An AV function section is provided with a standby mode serving to reduce power consumption during standby. An embedded controller provides such control as shifts or recovers the AV function section to or from the standby mode. Further, a network processor accepts, via a network such as a wireless LAN, a command causing the AV function section to shift to or recover from the standby mode. On the basis of this command, the network processor instructs, via a control signal line, the embedded controller to shift or recover the AV function section to or from the standby mode.

  • Patent number: 7587503
Abstract: A content reproduction apparatus including reproduction unit configured to reproduce content data item stored in recording medium storing first server identifier and content data item including destination identifier, reads first server identifier from recording medium, to store first server identifier in table, certifies first server corresponding to first sever identifier, receives first server policy from first server being certified, first server policy including second server identifier redirecting to second server, to store second server identifier in table, certifies second server, acquires destination identifier while reproduction unit reproduces content data item, determines whether destination identifier being acquired is equal to first identifier stored in table, and accesses to second server, when at least destination identifier is equal to first identifier and second server is certified.

  • Publication number: 20080298219
Abstract: An information storage medium according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a management area in which management information to manage content is recorded and a content area in which content managed on the basis of the management information is recorded. The content area includes an object area in which a plurality of objects are recorded, and a time map area in which a time map for reproducing these objects in a specified period on a timeline is recorded. The management area includes a play list area in which a play list for controlling the reproduction of a menu and a title each composed of the objects on the basis of the time map is recorded.

  • Publication number: 20070139561
Abstract: The invention provides a reproducing apparatus with which a user can confirm a selection situation about video output terminals before or in connection between an external video-displaying portion and the reproducing apparatus, and can suitably perform the connection between them. Before a reproducing apparatus (1) is connected to a TV apparatus (30) or (31), to which of video terminals a terminal through which a video signal is to be outputted corresponds is visually displayed on a displaying portion (100) provided in a front panel (10) of the front of a main body, whereby even in case of the reproducing apparatus including a plurality of video output terminals, a user can readily and reliably connect a video cable.

  • Patent number: 7206951
Abstract: A power control driver of a BIOS has a function of changing a frequency of clock supplied to a CPU. According to the function of the power control driver, it is possible to set a normal mode for showing the CPU capability to the maximum and a power saving mode for preferentially taking power saving rather than the CPU capability. A power control utility program carries out the following power saving control. The program shifts a system to the normal mode when an AV application program operating an encoder and a decoder required for showing the CPU capability to the maximum is operating. In addition, the program shifts the system to the power saving mode when the program is not operating even if application programs other than the program are operating.

  • Publication number: 20060257104
Abstract: According to one embodiment, the contents of a DVD video disc can be reproduced by use of reproduction control information realized by a Markup language. It is possible to hold a resource whose life period has elapsed in a cache memory and use the resource again. Therefore, a data access manager, a file cache which temporarily stores a plurality of resources and a navigation manager (including a filecache manager) which processes management information used to manage a plurality of files held in the file cache and controls the data access manager are provided. The filecache manager registers a loaded resource into a first list if the resource lies within the life period and registers the resource into a second list and manages the same if the life period of the resource has expired.

  • Publication number: 20060257106
Abstract: Systems and methods for selecting information associated with a removable storage medium are disclosed. A multimedia presentation, such as a movie, is stored on the removable storage medium. A provider key is used to identify a particular content provider, such as a film studio, with the removable storage medium. Other media content associated with the same content provider is activated at least partially in response to a determination that the removable storage medium of the content provider has been inserted into an information storage medium, such as a computer or a DVD player.

  • Patent number: 7137012
Abstract: A revocation list is registered a public ROM area. The revocation list designates at least one electronic device in which use of the storage medium by the designated electronic device is to be revoked. A controller receives from the electronic device which attempts to access, identification information indicative of the electronic device, and checks whether identification information corresponding to the received identification information is contained in the revocation list, thereby determining whether or not use of the storage medium by the electronic device which attempts to access should be revoked.

  • Publication number: 20060188229
Abstract: According to one embodiment, to implement video objects to be played back by a method different from an existing playback sequence, playlist information which is played back first is recorded when the medium stores an advanced content. The playlist information may be configured to include object mapping information which is included in each title and is mapped on the title timeline, playback information for each title described based on the timeline, and so on. The object mapping information may describe timings on the timeline to be loaded into a playback system for each predetermined information unit such as an application or object.
