  • Patent number: 7679776
Abstract: When a preview of a composed job is performed by composing data outputted from an application for printing, in order to provide a method for enabling the preview to be performed in consideration of a layout of each print job, one composed job is formed by composing the print jobs obtained by converting the data to be printed into the data in an intermediate code format and this method is realized by controlling so as to display the preview of the composed job on the basis of layout information of each print job in the composed job.

  • Publication number: 20100064211
Abstract: Defect-free printing is achieved by previewing on a display prior to printing, device functions and print specifications. Preview of double-sided faces is concurrently provided when double-sided printing is specified. Display is performed by generation of data which allows print preview that reflects consideration of device information and document data. Data is generated for perspective-reverse-face preview when page-specification information is set for double-sided faces.

  • Publication number: 20100033761
Abstract: Upon designating bookbinding print, preview images are displayed in a layout after bookbinding. When “store” of intermediate data is designated in a print process, a spooler (302) stores intermediate data and an output job setup file in a spool file (303). When the stored job is selected, a previewer (306) displays a list of jobs, and displays a print preview image. In this case, upon setting bookbinding print, pages are displayed in a spread state and order after bookbinding. Also, the open direction (right or left open), and the bookbinding unit are also expressed on preview images.

  • Publication number: 20090323109
Abstract: An information processing apparatus sets print setting information applied to a document upon printing and finishing information applied to a printed matter of the document and designates a first printing apparatus for executing the printing. In the case where the first printing apparatus can execute a process regarding the set finishing information, the information processing apparatus transmits print data including the print setting information and the finishing information to the first printing apparatus. In the case where the first printing apparatus cannot execute the process regarding the finishing information, the information processing apparatus designates a second printing apparatus for executing the process regarding the finishing information, transmits the print data including the print setting information to the first printing apparatus and transmits the print data including the finishing information to the second printing apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20090273806
Abstract: An information processing apparatus for forming print data to be print-processed by a printer is constructed by: designation receiving means for receiving designation of a duplex printing, discriminating means for discriminating the number of pages in the case where data to be printed has been arranged on a recording paper, and command adding means for receiving the designation of the duplex printing by the designation receiving means and, in the case where it is determined by the discriminating means that the number of pages of the recording paper on which the data to be printed has been arranged is equal to an odd number, adding a command to urge a forced paper ejection in the printer lest a blank page of the last page is logically counted in the printer. A print data forming method and a print control program for realizing such an apparatus and a memory medium which stores such a program are provided.

  • Patent number: 7603618
Abstract: This invention returns a page image of a scanned document image to a state before an image correction process by only a simple operation, and facilitates bookbinding work. For this purpose, a plurality of shared folders are set on a network, and attributes in printing are set for the shared folders. A hot folder program supervises the shared folders. When a document image data file scanned by a multifunction apparatus is stored in one of the shared folders, the hot folder program causes an action program to perform a process complying with the attributes set for the shared folder which stores the file, and a bookbinding application to import the file. At this time, when backup in the shared folder is set, an original file stored in the shared folder is backed up in a backup folder. If a bookbinding application designates replacement with a desired page, the page is replaced with a page in the backup folder.

  • Patent number: 7559024
Abstract: This invention relates to a document processing apparatus and method for a structured document formed by grouping original pages. The document processing apparatus according to this invention controls display of the image objects of either or both of a document structure and an original page contained in the document. The document processing apparatus includes an editor which edits the document so as to insert a new group containing a designated original page to a designated position in accordance with designation of the original page and the position on the displayed image objects. Display of the image objects is controlled for the document edited by the editor.

  • Publication number: 20090144616
Abstract: The present invention provides a document processing method and system which implement display that improves efficiency and usability of edit operations when inserting, moving, or copying and pasting data, by taking full advantage of the feature of retaining data and set values hierarchically in the system. In document processing for editing a document consisting of multiple sets of original data, when a user moves a graphic object which represents a desired original by dragging it on the document in order to move or copy the desired original data to a certain position on the document, the present invention detects the boundary between originals in the document, nearest to the position of the cursor dragging the graphic object which represents the desired original, and displays an identifiable mark on the boundary between originals in the document.

  • Patent number: 7525682
Abstract: In a print control method for an information processing apparatus which segments a surface of a sheet into a plurality of areas and controls layout of print data in the respective segmented areas, print settings are made, and it is determined whether a surface to an imposition process is an upper or lower surface. Page orders on the upper and lower surfaces which match each other are set in accordance with the determination result. An imposition process is performed on the basis of the set page orders.

  • Publication number: 20090006951
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to create a template for print settings used for printing a document based on an existing document. To achieve the object, the present invention is capable of registering the print settings for a document being currently edited as template information and reading the registered template information as print settings for the document being currently edited or a new document. Thus, in the present invention, the print settings for an existing document can be utilized as print settings for printing a document. More preferably, the contents of a registered template can be edited. More preferably, a document in the present invention has a tree structure with pages as leaves; print settings can be made for each subtree; and, when a template is registered, the print settings made for the entire tree structure are registered as the template.

  • Patent number: 7456984
Abstract: This invention has as its object to allow a print system having a middle insert print function to insert an index sheet without billing for it. According to a preferred embodiment, when it is set to insert an index sheet, a print application (305) executes a non-billing command transmission preparation process (step S603). Upon completion of the preparation process, the print application transmits a non-billing command to a printer (step S604). The print application then executes an index sheet output process (step S606). The printer excludes the index sheet from sheets to be billed in accordance with the received non-billing command.
