Abstract: When a preview of a composed job is performed by composing data outputted from an application for printing, in order to provide a method for enabling the preview to be performed in consideration of a layout of each print job, one composed job is formed by composing the print jobs obtained by converting the data to be printed into the data in an intermediate code format and this method is realized by controlling so as to display the preview of the composed job on the basis of layout information of each print job in the composed job.

Preview of double-sided faces is concurrently provided when double-sided printing is specified. Display is performed by generation of data which allows print preview that reflects consideration of device information and document data. Data is generated for perspective-reverse-face preview when page-specification information is set for double-sided faces.

When “store” of intermediate data is designated in a print process, a spooler (302) stores intermediate data and an output job setup file in a spool file (303). In this case, upon setting bookbinding print, pages are displayed in a spread state and order after bookbinding. Also, the open direction (right or left open), and the bookbinding unit are also expressed on preview images.

A print data forming method and a print control program for realizing such an apparatus and a memory medium which stores such a program are provided.

Abstract: This invention returns a page image of a scanned document image to a state before an image correction process by only a simple operation, and facilitates bookbinding work. For this purpose, a plurality of shared folders are set on a network, and attributes in printing are set for the shared folders. A hot folder program supervises the shared folders. When a document image data file scanned by a multifunction apparatus is stored in one of the shared folders, the hot folder program causes an action program to perform a process complying with the attributes set for the shared folder which stores the file, and a bookbinding application to import the file. At this time, when backup in the shared folder is set, an original file stored in the shared folder is backed up in a backup folder. If a bookbinding application designates replacement with a desired page, the page is replaced with a page in the backup folder.

Abstract: This invention relates to a document processing apparatus and method for a structured document formed by grouping original pages. The document processing apparatus according to this invention controls display of the image objects of either or both of a document structure and an original page contained in the document. The document processing apparatus includes an editor which edits the document so as to insert a new group containing a designated original page to a designated position in accordance with designation of the original page and the position on the displayed image objects. Display of the image objects is controlled for the document edited by the editor.

Abstract: In a print control method for an information processing apparatus which segments a surface of a sheet into a plurality of areas and controls layout of print data in the respective segmented areas, print settings are made, and it is determined whether a surface to an imposition process is an upper or lower surface. Page orders on the upper and lower surfaces which match each other are set in accordance with the determination result. An imposition process is performed on the basis of the set page orders.

To achieve the object, the present invention is capable of registering the print settings for a document being currently edited as template information and reading the registered template information as print settings for the document being currently edited or a new document. Thus, in the present invention, the print settings for an existing document can be utilized as print settings for printing a document. More preferably, the contents of a registered template can be edited. More preferably, a document in the present invention has a tree structure with pages as leaves; print settings can be made for each subtree; and, when a template is registered, the print settings made for the entire tree structure are registered as the template.

A setting user interface window is displayed from a print setting menu, a desired unit is selected from a print target column, and the range is designated in the selected unit. The range can be designated by an entire book file, chapter, page, or booklet.
