Abstract: In printing a plurality of pages of print data on one paper sheet upon combining the pages, a print control apparatus inputs layout data for determining a layout of the respective pages, extracts a page data portion to be printed as a single page from the print data in accordance with the input layout data, holds the page data portion, and outputs print data generated from the held page data. In this apparatus, when paper sheets are folded to form printed matter with an appearance of a book, a plurality of print page data can be printed in each print area. The apparatus includes a designation unit for making designation with respect to layout data to combine and lay out a plurality of print data pages on one page of bound paper sheets on which printing is performed, and a generating unit for generating print data print data having a plurality of page data laid out on one page of the bound paper sheets in accordance with the layout data.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus for forming print data to be print-processed by a printer is constructed by: designation receiving means for receiving designation of a duplex printing, discriminating means for discriminating the number of pages in the case where data to be printed has been arranged on a recording paper, and command adding means for receiving the designation of the duplex printing by the designation receiving means and, in the case where it is determined by the discriminating means that the number of pages of the recording paper on which the data to be printed has been arranged is equal to an odd number, adding a command to urge a forced paper ejection in the printer lest a blank page of the last page is logically counted in the printer. The order of sheets and the order of sides are obtained as book bind print setting information from the type of printer capable of book bind printing or paper discharge orifice or the type of finisher, then based on the obtained setting information, the page layout upon book bind printing is determined, and print data transmitted to the output apparatus is generated in accordance with the determined page layout.

Abstract: This invention relates to a printing device control method capable of outputting data while inserting separation paper between OHP sheets when it is undesirable for OHP sheets or the like that output results overlap each other. When an output order flag representing the printing order is set, and a separation printing function is set, the output order flag value is checked (S603). For backward printing, separation page output processing (S606) is performed before page data spool processing (S607). For forward printing, page data spool processing (S604) is performed before separation page output processing (S605). This makes it possible to normally output separation paper regardless of the printing order. When a printing device has a blank paper saving function, and printing on separation sheet is set off, the blank paper saving function can be invalidated to normally output separation paper.
