    Abstract: A semiconductor device including a substrate, a P-MOS single crystal TFT formed on the substrate, and an N-MOS single crystal TFT formed on the P-MOS single crystal TFT. The source region of the P-MOS single crystal TFT and the source region of the N-MOS single crystal TFT may be connected to each other. The P-MOS single crystal TFT and the N-MOS single crystal TFT may share a common gate. Also, the P-MOS single crystal TFT may include a single crystal silicon layer with a crystal plane of (100) and a crystal direction of <100>. The N-MOS single crystal TFT may include a single crystal silicon layer having the same crystal direction as the single crystal silicon layer of the P-MOS single crystal TFT and having a tensile stress greater than the single crystal silicon layer of the P-MOS single crystal TFT.

    Abstract: A Radio Network Controller (RNC) in a high speed wireless communication system includes an apparatus to perform method for changing a serving cell in the high speed wireless communication system. The RNC receives UpLink (UL) cell change determination information representing UL channel states from a serving Base Station (BS) and a target BS. The UL is received if a UL soft handover of a Mobile Station (MS) is initiated depending on a DownLink (DL) channel quality of the MS. The RNC can determine UL cell change timing of the MS using the UL cell change determination information. Thereafter, the RNC can send an instruction of a UL cell change of the MS to the serving BS and the target BS.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for determining operation of location update in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. The apparatus includes a receiver, an interpreter, and a determiner. In an idle mode, the receiver receives a paging advertisement message from a Base Station (BS). The interpreter identifies paging group identification information included in the paging advertisement message. The determiner determines one of execution and non-execution of a location update process due to a change of a paging group if the paging group identification information is different from paging group identification information included in a previously received paging advertisement message.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for handover between a broadband wireless communication system and a heterogeneous communication system are provided. An operating method of a base station for the handover between a broadband wireless communication system and a and a heterogeneous communication system includes when a terminal enters a border cell, sending a message requesting to measure a signal level of a downlink, to the terminal, when a signal level measured by the terminal falls below a preset threshold, requesting a handover, to a corresponding heterogeneous communication system, over a core network, receiving a message, including channel allocation information for the handover, from the corresponding heterogeneous communication system, and forwarding the message, including the channel allocation information, to the terminal. Hence, when the terminal gets out of the service coverage area of the broadband wireless communication system, it can be handed over to the heterogeneous communication system seamlessly.

    Abstract: A method and system for controlling an inter-mobile switching center hard handoff in a mobile network are provided. The method includes recognizing, at a terminal, a target cell whose pilot strength is equal to or higher than a candidate qualification reference value and transmitting a pilot strength measurement message to a base station. A pilot measurement request order message and the pilot strength measurement message are exchanged between the terminal and the base station even within a handoff restricted time and it is determining whether or not to perform the handoff. A handoff order is transmitted from the base station to the terminal ordering a handoff to the target cell, in the case that the difference in pilot signal strength between the serving cell and the target cell exceeds the active interval value after the handoff restricted time has lapsed.
