  • Publication number: 20100275068
Abstract: A method, device and system for managing resources in networks are provided, which relate to the field of data communication. The method includes the following steps. A resource manager (RM) sends a first request message according to a received resource request message, to request an access node (AN) to perform admission control. After receiving an admission control result indicating whether a resource requested by the resource request message is admitted, the RM sends a response message of the resource request message. Therefore, when multicast/unicast connection admission control (CAC) that supports shared bandwidth is realized, flow fusions of user line configuration between the AN and a broadband remote access system (BRAS, and policy distribution between a resource and admission control subsystem (RACS) and the BRAS are guaranteed; and sharing of bandwidth resources is realized to avoid waste of the bandwidth resources.

  • Publication number: 20090194625
Abstract: Winding cores for elastically stretched or shrinkable materials are designed to significantly reduce the amount of roll strain energy developed during winding. This is accomplished by building into the core an energy-absorbing zone that can be collapsed by a substantial amount and in a relatively controlled fashion over a substantial period of time under the influence of a continued radially inward pressure exerted by the roll of wound material. The energy-absorbing zone is formed by one or more collapsible layers having repeated atomic regions projecting out of a plane of the sheet and each defining a plurality of normal vectors in different sub-regions of the atomic region, wherein the normal vectors, when projected onto the two-dimensional plane of the sheet, are in a plurality of different directions in the plane.

  • Publication number: 20080162678
Abstract: In one of many possible embodiments, an exemplary system includes a test management subsystem configured to provide a user portal to a user of a circuit provided by a service provider, the user portal including a tool enabling the user to select a signal loop for testing at least a section of the circuit, the signal loop being selected from a plurality of signal loop options. The system also includes a network management subsystem communicatively coupled to the test management subsystem, the network management subsystem being configured to receive data representative of the selection from the test management subsystem and instruct, based on the selection, a network device along the circuit to execute a loop-back mode. In certain embodiments, the selected signal loop defines a test pattern signal flow for testing a subsection of the circuit.

  • Publication number: 20060060008
Abstract: A test device includes a stationary web roll support assembly comprising a base and a pair of core supports spaced apart and affixed to the base with the core supports projecting upwardly from the base, the core supports structured and arranged to engage opposite ends of a core of a web roll so as to support the web roll. The test device also includes a movable weight load simulating assembly comprising a flexible belt having opposite ends, and a belt holder structured and arranged to secure the opposite ends of the belt to the belt holder with the belt forming a generally U-shaped loop about an outer surface of the web roll intermediate the opposite ends of the core. Movement of the belt holder away from the stationary web roll support assembly causes the belt to exert a load on the web roll, simulating weight load on the core and core supports.

  • Patent number: 6309717
Abstract: Composite paperboard container constructions, providing optimized axial crush strength, and related properties, are formed of one, two, or three structural paperboard plies that are arranged to form a layered body wall having a cross-section of the construction in the ordered structure, high compression strength paperboard layer\low compression strength paperboard layer\high compression strength paperboard layer. Preferably, the container body is formed of one or two structural plies and at least one structural ply is a multiple layer paperboard having both high compression strength and low compression strength paperboard layers.

  • Patent number: 5393582
Abstract: The invention provides multi-grade spirally wound paperboard tubes of enhanced flat crush strength construction. The multi-grade spirally wound paperboard tubes of the invention include a plurality of structural paperboard plies having at least two predetermined densities including a lower density and a higher density wherein the higher density is at least about 3% greater than the lower density. The cylindrical bodywall is defined in radial cross section by at least one centrally located paperboard layer disposed between at least one radially inwardly located structural paperboard layer and at least one radially outwardly located structural paperboard layer. The centrally located paperboard layer is formed from the higher density paperboard and the inwardly and outwardly located structural paperboard layers are formed from lower density paperboard.
